I used the average/recommended bid for each, yet with landers that are getting 13% CTR in zeropark, are getting around 1% in Propeller ads. Thoughts? Would you try increasing the bid?
Have you check if this average comes from a particular website with high volume or is it overall from all the website IDs?
After you do what Servando suggested, you should also keep in mind that CTR can vary based on geo and/or traffic source.
Check placements and also devices after to see if perhaps you get traffic from a particularly high (or low) CTR device in one of the campaigns.
As an example, iOS devices often have lower CTR because many scripts don't work on their browsers.
What guys above me said, plus :
- check the placement report on zeropark, there can be some bot placements that inflate the overall CTR
- do the same on propeller - there might be some placements or targets that are taking the average down a lot.
And ... how about conversions? CTR is something to look at for sure, but profits is what matter the most.
I get more CTR on ZP but more actual conversions and cash on Propeller--at least at first. ZP seems to have more placements and takes more time to cut out the unprofitable ones. That's just with a couple of verticals, with non-US traffic, so it may be different for you.
Also are you trying at different bids? Different bids on the same source give me different results sometimes. ANd different bids on different sources can bring different results. For example, I copied a Propeller camp to a different traffic source, and it gets about the same number of conversions--for half the price. For that particular campaign at least. I dont' even know what their respective CTRs are. But I pay more attention with ZP, b/c ZP is big & weird.
It is definitely easy to get distracted by CTR and other supposed metrics. But profits are king.
