Need some direction
Hi guys,
Would be great to hear your thoughts and opinions.
I'm quite new to AM, i have some experience promoting Clickbank product a while ago, I did some conversions (promote it on Bing) but it was on a very small scale.
I decided to step it up, I have a budget of about 3K for the next few months, i want to learn and improve and my objective is to do AM full time by the end of this year.
I'm still working full time 5 days a week, so i have the weekends, and 2-4 hours every day.
There is a lot of info here, and it's definitely helping me, but i would like to get some tips and advise on where to start.
1. is it enough to start with 3k? (I can add more in the next months)
2. what are the most essential tools/services that i need to start right now? Spytool? tracker? etc.
3. I have an experience with PPC search, Adwords, Bing and also Facebook. Adwords is not suitable for AM so i'm thinking to focus on Bing. Is it a good place to start?
4. I've been also reading about mobile traffic, where is the best place to start running traffic on?
5. i'm familiar with the Binary Options industry (not as an affiliate), I know it's very competitive niche, but i've been thinking about getting into this field (also forex) is it a good idea to start with that? or maybe i should focus on a less competitive niche?
6. I've been accepted to MaxBounty, and also have an account with clickbank. Any other good affiliate networks to register?
7. i already have a website(nothing on it yet), it is hosted on ehost. Do i need a CDN as well? Will it be better to transfer the site to Beyond Hosting? (i really don't know much about hosting, CDN etc.
I've been thinking a lot about affiliate marketing and having an online business, I feel overwhelmed by the amount of information about this field
So aside of the questions above I would appreciate any thoughts/insights/tips etc. that will help me getting started the best way possible.
Thanks

Hello razibsh, let me answer your questions :
1. Yes, 3K is enough, many started with less

The fact that you can add more if needed, just makes it better.
2. Tracker for sure, VPS or CDN for hosting LPs. Definitely get a spytool for at least a month too, so you can get a starting "dose" of banners and LPs .
3. Even adwords can work for whitehat AM, the industry is huge, it's not just about pushing fake antivirus apps

There are legit apps, legit dating, legit diet programs ... clickbank has ton of legit products, you can even start you own eshop ... Bing works too, just the scale is lower ... but they also seem to be less strict.
4. Pretty much all networks have mobile traffic too, adwords and bing too ... most popular mobile traffic used to be display traffic (banners) on mobile DSPs, but thats a no-go for now. You can still try mobile pops on networks like propeller, adcash, popads, zeropark ...
5. Binary is or used to be dominated by a bunch of Israeli networks and I heard some rumors about stricter laws that will kill that vertical from a large part ... not sure how much true this is thou ...
6. Maxbounty is considered solid, there are reps of many other networks here so just search for them.
7. I dont know ehost, but judging by a quick look I had at their site - it looks like a cheap shared hosting plans, thats not something you should use for AM. Beyond is solid, thou not the cheapest. CDN is a good option too and an affordable one, but it only hosts static content (no server side scripts). I use a combination of VPS (and dedicated) and CDN.
As for other tips, you need to decide what you want to do in AM first, then you can ask more specific questions.
Good luck

Hi Matuloo,
Thanks a lot for replying and answering my questions.
i'll try to be more specific
1. I thought about
Voluum as a tracker, can it be used for any traffic source? and can i track an entire funnel with it? e.g. keyword>lp>bridge page>offer.
2. I know that there is a way to hide the page i'm sending traffic to from reviewers at the traffic source. how can i do it?
3. Since i already have an experience with Bing Ads, i'm thinking to continue using the PPC model for now. I thought about promoting products on search and to retarget users that visited the page on FB. is that a good idea?
4. In the past i've used Getresponse for the landing page and to catch emails, i understood that it's not the best solution since it's controlled by them, which tools can i use to copy landing pages and edit them? and also how can i collect emails? which tool would you recommend?
5. Just to understand that better, i heard that Google doesn't like affiliates, can i actually take the risk and promote a diet pills for example on Google?
6. About hosting, in order to run a campaign. What exactly do i need? to host my domain and to have a CDN and VPS? Can i have all of those in one place? let's say Beyond?
Why can't i just host the landing pages on a domain and start sending traffic to?
7. "most popular mobile traffic used to be display traffic (banners) on mobile DSPs, but thats a no-go for now." Why it's a no-go for now?
8. Are you familiar with
http://leadgadget.com/?, i saw it in Maxbounty, it's a tool that can drive organic traffic. I wonder if you know anything about that?
9. If i currently have one domain (adeative.com) can i host many landing pages on it on a subdomains?
Thanks again.

Here we go :
1. Voluum is one of the top3, the next ones are Thrive and funnelflux ... whichever you choose, it will track the entire funnel for you and will work pretty much everywhere.
2. this is called cloaking and it's pretty much against the rules of every network - learn how to work in a legit way first
3. Yup, mastering your current skill might be a better idea than starting again from scratch. The method you described can work indeed.
4. I'm using getresponse too on my blog, so far I like it... Im far from being an expert in this field so can't really comment much. Spytools work good for copying LPs, you might want to hire a coder too, to help you rip them properly, get rid of possible malicious code and modify them for you.
5. Their rules change all the time, please refer to the current list - they limit many verticals in one way or another.
6. You need a place to host your LPs and also tracker in case you decide to use a self hosted one. You can also put the LPs on a CDN, even without using a domain. You can't host the domain just ANYWHERE, because you need 99.9% uptime and fast loading times. Beyond is a good choice yes, and they-will be able to host it all for you - they also have CDN but I didnt try it. I'm using rackspace cloudfiles myself.
7. We are all a bit in the dark about it, but it simply isnt performing now from a large part - it has to do with the traffic distribution. it's a more complicated topic, I will probably write a separate article about it.
8. Nope, doesnt ring a bell. But in case its an offer pushed inside aff networks, it's probably just a guru-type bizopp BS
9. Yes you can, even subdirectories can work - unless you want to use more advanced methods like fake or real blogs, articles, guides, reviews ... in some cases it's better to use a dedicated domain.
Cheers

I will write an article about how to pick a vertical/offer to push, hopefully this week, so keep an eye on it. It's not a topic I could cover in a single post, so doing an entire guide will be a better option.

Thanks Matuloo!
Looking forward to read this post!
Another question I have regarding a spy tool (adplexity), I can see that they offer three packages: mobile, native and desktop.
If I want to run campaigns on desktop and mobile (through Bing and Facebook) would i need both desktop and mobile packages?
Also if you have any recommendation about a spy tool I'll be happy to hear.
My plan to start goes like that:
1. Focus on a vertical (I'm thinking on CC submits/trials or health&beauty)
2. Buy a related domain and to host it in Beyond Hosting including CDN.
3. Get a spytool, Checking the vertical, funnel, landing pages, ads etc
4. Taking 3 offers from the same vertical and setup 3 different campaigns (Bing + Remarking on FB + emails - I'm thinking on a daily budget of 15-20$ as a start for each campaign)
5. Using Voluum as a tracker
6. optimize the campaigns
I would love to hear your thoughts about that and of course any tips/advices will be great!
I'm eager to start I just want to make sure that I'll start the best possible way.
Thanks again!

5. Using
Voluum as a tracker
6. optimize the campaigns
1. Focusing on one vertical is a good idea at the beginning. Whether CC submits or trial are the way to go is hard to say. It's certainly one of the more advanced verticals, but maybe you can make it work.
2. Good thinking, beyond is solid, not cheap, but with good support. However, I dont have experience with their CDN so can't comment on that part. I'm using Rackspace cloudfiles for example and it works well for pennies.
3. Yes, get a spytool for at least a month to get an idea about the promo methods. Im using adplexity mosltly, but they dont have a FB version - there is native thou, so there will be a lot of health&beauty ads/LPs to grab.
4. This could work, 15-20 is not much but it's a start. You could also try to push 3 products in 1 campaign and split test them - just make 3 LPs to reflect the different offer brands - Depends on the approach you choose.
5.
Voluum is solid, but since you don't plan to focus on carrier traffic, you can also do well with a selfhosted tracker such as funnelflux.
6. no need to comment here

Hi Matuloo,
Appreciate your response.
I've read your post about PIN submit and i decided to go for it as a start. I think it will be good place to start in terms of testing and budget.
I'll go with tier 2 geo, I thought about Latin America.
Is there any guide that explained how to integrate the hosting with the cdn? So if i can host it the website on Beyond Hosting and use Rackspace cloudfiles?
I can also see that i can set up everything with Amazon - hosting and CDN. Is it a good option?
After reading a bit, I'll go with pop ads, any good place to buy traffic from?
Thanks again!
