Do I Need To Build A Website For Each Campaign?
I have to apologize in advance if this is the newbiest of newbie questions.
Do I need to build a new website for each campaign I launch?
For example, say I'm choosing to promote a game on Facebook, would I buy a domain name relevant to the game I'm promoting and build a site specifically for the game.
Or could I just have one site (i.e. my business site) and run all of my campaigns through that single site?
Any clarity on this would be great.
Thanks.

Only apologize to yourself ... for question you have NOT asked
The approach you need to choose depends on what you are trying to achieve. For simple leadgen for example, you only need a landing page that you can simply put into a subdirectory and host it on the same domain as 100s of other landing pages. Less picky sources will accept this without any problems.
When working with more picky sources, that Facebook definitely is, it is a better idea to build dedicated sites or at least use domain structure that is related to the niche of the product you are promoting. These sources definitely prefer stuff that looks more advanced - fully developed sites for example. Sources like facebook are all about user experience so keep that in mind when preparing promote materials for them.
Back to the example you used : promoting a game on facebook - these can be promoted even through a directlink that takes the users to the game directly, without using any landing page. You can also use a landing page, but make sure it offers some value to the user - so maybe a small site with tips on how to play it, review, tutorial ... it would be a good idea to put it on a domain name that is related to gaming in general or the game itself.
My preferred way of handling campaigns is to register "generic" domains that are related to a particular niche, then putting the landing pages into more specifically named subdirectories or subdomains. Every landing page is tailored towards the particular product I'm promoting - doesn't have to be a dedicated site or page, small personalization (Logo, name/title, screenshots) does the job.
