Steps to Optimizing Native Campaigns

Hi all, I'm trying to optimize my first Native arb campaign. To optimize the campaign I am removing suspected bots (clicks and no engagement), I've removed a few devices that don't seem to convert well and I removed a few regions that aren't converting. All of this has help to some small degree.

What are some other steps I can take to optimize a campaign? What is significant enough data to remove a traffic source, 5,10,20... clicks that all bounce? I have a ton of traffic sources with only 1-2 clicks and 100% bounce rate. Ditch them?

Besides GA what other tools would be helpful for a Native Arb campaign? Voluum seems to be better suited for running offers, right?

Thanks

Hello, chitown!

Can you please tell us, how many prelanders do you use? I start to optimize my native campaigns with prelanders.

Hey mrbraun, I really enjoyed your success story. Pretty amazing journey. I'm not running a prelander as I am just running a native arb campaign. I'm new to the affiliate world and thought I'd start there. Gonna hit you up on Skype shortly.

Step 1) talk to rep, get the good placements to automatically skip the botastic ones
if rep is not available, then use a spy tool to get placement ids

Step 2) test multiple images, same angle, then when u know top 3 high ctr images, test multiple angles

Step 3) cut according to data

On step 1) - say for example you're running at Taboola, do you literally just call XYZ rep (or figure out another way to get in contact), and say Im running in XYZ country, can you tell me what sites I should block?

Also, is it possible to run whitelist campaigns on sources like Taboola?

Reverse engineer some big abitrage sites in terms of content, content split, banner placement, exit pops, widget placements. Then optimize your page accordingly. As well analyze the upstream traffic and the monetization of some big sites. Some native networks are better to buy / sell to than others when it comes to abitrage.

Take your creatives that are doing the best and test single word variations of it and combine your angel with new pictures. CTR is the name of the game, you want to establish a high CTR to get good and relatively cheap traffic.

Create bid baskets / lists for your placements according to the EPV of it. Not every placement has the same profitability, and you should not pay the same price for each one. Further identify some big hitters that are doing well for you and dominate them.

Thanks Sebastian! Great info.

How to track/analysis your native campaigns? Do you just used GA? Voluum?
