Does this campaign have potential?

Hey guys!

Was just thinking if I can make this campaign work or not. Let me know your thoughts!

Tools
Tracking: Voluum
Landers: Adplexity
Traffic Source: Propeller Ads - pop traffic
Networks: ClickDealer, Yep Ads, Mpire
Vertical: Sweepstakes
Country: Austria
Daily Budget: $10
CPM: $5
Total spent so far: $92

I ended up pausing this but decided to unpause and see what happens.

Here are my stats:

Austria Campaign: ROI -68.80%

Offer 1 - 6k visits - 188 clicks (CTR 2.87%) - 7 conversions - ROI -50.73%
Offer 2 - 6k visits - 163 clicks (CTR 2.53%) - 2 conversions - ROI -82.59%
Offer 3 - 6k visits - 188 clicks (CTR 2.92%) - 2 conversions - ROI -90.29%

Lander 1 - 5 converions
Lander 2- 1 conversion
Lander 3- 2 conversions
Lander 4- 0 conversions

So my mistake was I took offer 1 and lander 1 and I created a new campaign with the good placements. I know it was stupid because I didn't have enough placements. So now I have my original campaign with just few placement blacklisted with offer 1 and lander 1.

Any suggestions on what to do next?

Thank you!!!
Carolyn

I would keep running to get some more data, really $92 isn't really enough to justify if you have a winning campaign or not. It does look like landing Page 1 is doing very well though.

Are you doing this RON, or have you done further targeting?

Then it might be beneficial to run some bot tests and build a blacklist. Afaik PopAds has quite a bit of bot traffic.

Def get more data - when an offer is converting that's a good sign! You need to optimize and will see improvement! Keep going Carolyn and see you on Saturday!!!

I would disagree that spending more money is necessarily the answer...

You havent listed all the possible dimensions with which to analyze data by.

There have got to be other dimensions which you can focus in on and test the data by.

When Im running campaigns, every step of the way, I create hypothesis, and test those hypothesis with data.

I shot a whole webinar here about this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYEvz6IZs-s

Basically, if you are not constantly creating hypothesis, and testing them, then you are wasting money.

Even though marketing requires a great deal of creativity (something many affiliates dont fully 'get'), its still a science, and you constantly need to being thinking of it as 'If ____ then _____' statements.

Thanks John! Ive heard and read so many ways of optimizing but haven't gone that far into detail with it yet.

I will check out your youtube video for sure.

UPDATE:

Day 1:
Offer 1, Lander 1 (-100% ROI)

Day 2:
Offer 1, Lander 1 - 1 Conversion (-50% ROI)

No changes were made from day 1 an 2.

So Next I decided to split test an duplicate 2 campaigns one for Wifi and one for 3G.

Will update to see what the results are from this test. feel free to add any suggestions. Thank you!!

As someone said I'get more data.

Make sure you track paths

Targeting->Placement->lander->offer

And analyze each as separately as possible. You can look at the component parts. But the combo is really what matters. Each new variable you add increases your variation factorially. So don't go too crazy with variations of combo's or you need a MASSIVE amount of clicks to make definitive conclusions.

But CONGRATS on getting it going, that first step is always the hardest...

Look for the closest winner

Thanks so much for the great feedback! I will definitely analyze the parts separately!

Does anyone know how long you should run a campaign for before giving up on it if the daily budget is $10? When should you give up if no conversions are made? 1 day, 2 days ?

Length isnt really important, its moreso a factor of money.

You could run a campaign for 2 days spending $1 /day, and that wouldnt help.

In my experience, i run a campaign for 10x CPA, and if im not seeing the potential (usually 20-30% roi is acceptable) to optimize it to become profitable at a scale that would be worthwhile for me, then i re-engineer things (maybe the funnel, the targeting, angle, etc)
