CPVLab Help Question (8)

CPVLab Help Question

What's going on STM, having some difficulty with CPVLab...

Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I've got one campaign up and running and working fine with it, but my problem is when I try to set up a new campaign...

Both campaigns are set up using the "Direct Linking & Landing Page" option.

Everything works smoothly until I got to the "update my offer links" part:

This is the same link from the first campaign, the "http://whatever.com/base2.php". So now this campaign and the previous campaign both link to the same offer.

Anyone know how to fix this, or why this is even happening?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hey dubbsy,

This is normal behaviour... I guess it drops a cookie or something, not sure how but it magically works

Carry on pumping out the campaigns!

Thanks extremesg. I don't know if I'm messing something up, but both of my campaigns are pointing to the same place now. I'm guessing it's something I'm doing wrong, but I really can't think of what it could be.

I'm guessing that the base2.php file sets up different cases for the different campaign ID's since those auto increment and can't be the same, and then displays whichever link based on the campaign id (totally guessing here, I have no idea how it works under the hood).

I'll play around with it some more in the morning and report back. But thanks for your help, at least now I know that the /base2.php link should always be there like that!

Cheers,

D

Had to re-read your question twice to understand what you're asking.

All the offer links(ie base2.php or base3.php) are the same, in a way it's protecting your campaign from spies because you can only continue to a specific campaigns' offer link(or level 2 LP) if you reached the lander using the campaign link (ie http://domain.com/base.php?c=111&key=blahblahblah)

What up Shanktank,

So what I'm learning from you and extremesg is that that link will never change and that all of the offers should re-direct themselves based on the "new campaign". But what I'm finding is that when I create a new campaign, the older ones now all link to the new campaigns offer. Example:

Campaign 1:

set up type: Direct Link & Landing Page
links to Match.com

Campaign 2:
set up type: Direct Link & Landing Page
links to HomeIncomeKit.com

Now when I set this up, Campaign one starts linking to Homeincomekit.com

Going to try setting up some more campaigns today and see if it does the same thing.

Thanks for your help fellas

It's probably because you didn't clear the cookies after clicking on the 1st campaign link.
Go to yourtrackingdomain/resetcookie.php to clear that cookie and test it again.

make sure you use the test link to test your campaigns. this will ensure the right cookie gets set:
