My trip on gambling (sports betting) market on adult ads

Hi pals and gals,

as you can see from my presentation post I am experted in SEO and PPC (ADW, FB, Adsense) market so my newbie affiliate approach is probably a little bit different (and lame). Lack of expertise in AM is probably something that can bury my success so I hope you can help me on my trip.

My approach is quite easy:
Landing page only goal is to get email from users and in return they receive a bonus code for free bet.

The charachteristics from my adult advertising campaigns:

As I do not want to spend too much I had very aggressive approach to campaign optimization in this 10 days, so I keep only really most efective traffic sources. I have spend 420 € for 256 emails. 80+ off them have converted - registered on betting site (some of them have use free bet and others not).

So far all good.
Problem (a.k.a. challenge ): No one of 80+ registered users did not convert to real money depositor (yet).

Goals:

I hope that you get enough informations to understand my system?

Questions that jumping on my mind:

I will be very grateful if you can answer me to one or more of the many questions I had. If you need more specific informations do not hesitate to PM me.

Best Regards,
Jurko Kafro

Any help/suggestion?

Today I have analyzed my campaigns and search for best traffic source - porn domain Youjizz.com that give me 32 emails for 0.55 € per email. By Alexa this domain have significant traffic from Germany.

So I create another campaign for Germany with testing budget 20 € per day and frequency capping to 5 impressions per 24 hours. The only traffic source will be Youjizz.com.
This time I drive traffic directly to provider website (Bet At Home).

Is this approach ok?

As a total newbie I am pretty sure that I did not found holy grail so I can give you any other details if you need.

Please help!

I had tried banner ads for sportsbetting on adult sites with direct linking 2 years ago. It was a fail and besides that I soon got an email from my AM asking to stop that instantly.
I guess that Bet at Home neither will like it if you promote them on an adult site...

So I like your email approach better.

Hi @osmiumman,

can you tell me more details about what you try? What was your traffic source, which affiliate program did you advertise?
I have seen many popups and popunders arround for different betting sites that link direct, so I can not accept that is not possible to make profit here.

I have already try Exo and Propeller. What should be next traffic source that I should try?

Hey Jurko, just some general infos based on my experience with gambling campaigns:

- Casinos officially don't appreciate adult traffic. Especially when starting out and with no proper relationship to the advertiser, better to do mainstream first
- Directlinking to the casino or general gambling offer is competing against in-house campaigns. A lot of the stuff you see running on pornsites and streaming sites are in-house mediabuying campaigns. Pointless to compete in my opinion, might be doable to get profitable, but very very difficult to maintain that level
- Germany is very competitive in Gambling and probably going for CPA is better than CPL in the longterm. Usually if you can afford to go CPA instead of CPL, it's the better choice. Since only if your leads back out to the casino they'll let you run ( making more margin with CPL )
- Try to create some prelanders with massappeal to get better conversion rates. Directlinking really only works at big events like specific horse races taking place, specific football matches etc. but hardly in general

What is the CPA for user registering a paid bet?
or do you go with rev chare deals?

From my knowledge in the field, germany also suffers from a lot of regulations (at least the Casino part of it, mi it up with adult traffic...)

It was also a UK based sportsbook, I tried it in Italy on youporn. As I said, they quickly discovered that Traffic came from an adult site, which most companies don't want to be associated with.

In fact, regulation in Germany is not decided - it's an 'open' market but not regulated. Hence why the big brands still operate there but don't have specific promos, especially for offline, such as in UK The regulation stuff is more crucial to the offline part of the whole business while online is pretty much going as usual.

Some statistics data from 11.1. to 23.1.
(all time that i advertise landing page to cro and bih)

BIH
Spend: 94 €
Leads: 91
CPL: 1.03 €

CRO

Is it right time now to stop campaigns and wait how many depositors will be in month or two?
As I have emails from them and not use them jet I should go with additional encouragement.
Bet at home offer up to 100 € bonus on first deposit and this is probably something I should promote via email. Any other ideas?

This is all lead generation to your own email list, am I correct?

My experience with casino and betting is depositors take some time to show up, so aim for the long tail. They first use the free coupons/codes, and they getting e-mailed every week with some interesting offers "deposit 10, get 10 for free". Most casino/betting sites have a very good funnel when it comes to trigger people to do a deposit.

Also try maybe shoot other betting offers on your e-mail list when it has some proper volume. Last thing, check what min. deposit is needed to become a sale, some casino and betting sites have real low deposit, like 5 euro, to become a "real depositor (sale)". Where others hold a minimum of 20 euro for example.

You're losing leads by having the entire page be linked to your main homepage outside of the lead capture form. Send them there after the lead capture instead.

I have send email to all users that leave email (335). I create main own script, so most of emails should be in inbox and not in promotion box.
For now I have stoped all popunder campaigns. My goal is 45 € per depositor and with pops it seems this is too far away as I doubt that from 44 "bonus users" 13 users will convert.

Thinking about other traffic sources but FB and ADW are useless with betting.
Any other idea?
