Vultr Server Database setup question (with commando.io)

Hello everyone,

I was trying to setup a server using vultr.
I have already, ran the initial server setup recipe, and created my FTP account.
Now when I ran the Database Setup recipe in Commando.io for my vultr server, it gave me this:

ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2 "No such file or directory")

How can I fix this? I have created a vultr server before and this didn't happen.

Whatever kind of server you're trying to launch, it seems like it needs a mysql (database) server running...also just out of curiosity, why are you choosing Vultr instead of AWS or DigitalOcean?

If you are not good with servers I recommend to looking after ServerPilot.io rather.

You will have your complete server with DBs up and running in 5 minutes.

However this looks like a server is not running / I would google search over stackoverflow for solutions..

@happycoder
I searched through the internet, tried different method yet it still doesnt work. I am not sure what's going on, should I try to use DigitalOcean? The reason I use vultr is because it was the first platform I have used and it worked pretty well for me before.

@erikgyepes
Thanks for the reply, I am gonna check it out right now.

If you don't know how to manage a server why are you setting up software that will hopefully make you money?

You need managed hosting.
