PopAds LP prefetching option? (4)

PopAds LP prefetching option?

I noticed in PopAds campaign creation, there's a LP prefetching option. Here's what their site says:

Prefetching (reduce discrepancy, speed up loading of your landing page)

ith popup/popunder advertising, timing is very crucial, as the popup or popunder is often closed very fast by the visitor. This means that it is very important for your URL to load as fast as possible as any additional delay means more lost traffic (that we count and you do not).

We have a unique feature that allows to speed up loading of your landing page by instructing the visitor browser to start loading your URL while our system does fraud filtering and counting of the impression. This way, once we redirect the popup/popunder to your URL, the browser has your landing page already loaded and displays it instantly or at least it is in progress of loading it.

What does prefetching do for you:
Speeds up loading of your landing page which results in improved conversions/counting,
It will break many traffic counters/trackers as all these prefetch requests will be treated as separate hits. This means that your tracker will count more traffic than we will (there is a workaround below). Yet, if you count only conversions and related them to our numbers, this will not affect you.
There will be more requests to your URL hence you can expect more server resources usages.
It does not affect bidding or pricing in any way, as prefetching happens after your campaign wins the bidding. This means there are no additional costs on our side to use it.

In order to solve the problem with trackers and traffic counters, we allow you to specify which exactly URL you want the visitor browser to prefetch. This means that you can buy traffic to tracker URL, but have the landing page (after tracker) prefetched.

For example:
Let's say you are buying traffic for http://www.mylandingpage.com where you get your conversions. In order to track the campaign, you are using a tracker so you buy traffic to http://www.mytracker.com/track?id=123 which then redirects to http://www.mylandingpage.com
In such case, you can just set campaign URL to http://www.mytracker.com/track?id=123 and set prefetching URL to http://www.mylandingpage.com
This way, your tracker stats will not be affected at all and your landing page will load instantly after the redirection from tracker URL.

Do you guys actually use this and does this work?

1 consideration that's on my mind regarding this issue is that they want you to specify exactly which URL to prefetch - but what if you're rotating more than 1 LP in your tracker? Correct me if I'm wrong - Then it's not possible to prefetch right? As they want something other than the tracker link

I am interested in any comments to this as well.

I've not used this specifically on PopAds, but I've used prefetching in general, and it works well at increasing conversions.

It does, however, thoroughly screw up your tracking if you don't take steps to combat it, as they mention.

I don't know if they'd be able to allow lander rotation. You'd have to ask their support that.

I don't really use it in Popads.

I don't see the use with the typical Popads/TS > cloaker >Voluum > Lander > Voluum setup. since whatever is after the popup (bold) is an unknown depending on whatever tracking domain the network is using, or which offer you rotate in on.

For some SEO sites I use it though, i.e. if all the links go to clickbank, or end up at the same domain later in the funnel.

Having fast DNS though is important.
