How to track banner CTR in Voluum?

For example if I'm tracking POF in Voluum - I would have {creativeid:} for each banner in the campaign URL but how would I ensure I know the CTR of each banner and how it flowed through to each LP?

Thanks!

So you want to see what CTR you had on your LPs, based on what banner sent the click?

You need to pass the banner variable to Voluum first, the creativeid tag could work, each network uses a different token tho, so make sure you are using the right one. In Voluum, these tokens are configured in the "traffic source" section, fill out the proper variables. If configured properly, you will be able to analyze the campaign by each variable - the dropdown menu is top right part of voluum's interface.

I could go into more detail and show you screenshots, but first let me know whether you are actually interested in tracking the LP CTR by banner. If that's the case, can you show me the voluum configuration of the traffic source you are using?

Hey! Thanks for the quick response. I have POF set up in Voluum correctly I believe with {creativeid:} as the token..

I was looking to track the following:

1) CTR of the banner ie. on POF I want to see which banners get .100% CTR
2) Which banner led to the click on the LP
3) From 2) what was the CTR through the LP?

Hi tpm767,

1) To gauge your banner CTR, it would be worth checking if POF supports 3rd party impression pixels. This should be attainable if they permit the addition of creatives in a HTML format - example below.

Example:
Code:
<img src="http://mybanner.resource.com/banner_pof_A.png">
<img src="http://xxxxx.voluumtrk.com/impression/ebdfc666-576d-4267-8d5e-acaccd9670c7?cid={clickid}&cr_id={creativeid:}&gen={gender:}&age={age:}&stt={state:}&city={city:}" width="1" height="1"/>
If so, then you can toggle your POF template in Voluum with impression tracking enabled to generate impression pixels for your POF campaigns.
You can then measure banner impressions / iCTR % at no additional cost for events in Voluum - reference screen below

A campaign specific impression pixel URL will then be generated inline the campaign form ready to be added to your creatives on POF. - reference screen below

To view relevant statistics in Voluum, you'll need to toggle the impressions and iCTR columns within your Voluum reporting. - reference screen below

Cavaet: I'm not too familiar with the options available for advertisers on POF, and their documentation didn't have any coverage on 3rd party impression tracking, so it's best to double-check.

In the case this isn't supported, then you'll need to pull impressions data from POF to perform cross-analysis with visit data in Voluum (including creative ID variable data ).

For points 2 & 3, this can be referenced by selecting the relevant groupings in your POF campaign reports in Voluum.
For example, let's say that you have the POF creative ID macro mapped to the 2nd custom variable field in your traffic source template in Voluum.

To identify banner clicks (visits in Voluum) , you'll choose the same variable (var 2) as the primary grouping in your campaign report.
Then, banner > LP CTR will be indicated by click data, so you will select Landers as the secondary grouping.

Hope this helps and feel free to ping me if you need any further assistance.

Kind regards,
Adrian

Ah ok, for point 1 you need impressions tracking, not sure if POF supports it. But I see that Voluum's support served you well, so no need for me to expand on the topic

Sorry for jumping in but can someone tell me how I can advertise on POF??
On their website they keep saying this:

"Due to overwhelming demand we have taken the business decision to temporarily close registration for new advertisers as we optimize our site.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused."

They stopped taking new advertisers, but you can still buy an existing account from someone. Several people were trying to sell them even here on STM.
