Im trying to make as many mistakes as possible at this point to learn as fast as I can. I decided to try aliexpress free with shipping. I have six months with click funnels so I setup a funnel with an upsell. 2 Hours ago I setup a page and boosted the link for $5 a day and a post with the link for $150.
So far for the post:
Reached 1300 people
29 linked clicks
16 page likes
23 post likes
7 shares
collected 13 emails through the funnel
No sales
cost $4.00
So far for the Ad:
Reached 104 people
3 clicks
Cost .40
no sales
I don't have any emails setup or any automation. I don't even have a store setup. I just wanted to see what I could get started and finish the rest as I go. I'm not sure what I should do next. Are these good numbers so far?
dont ever use the boost post button for ads...
experiment with clicks to website objective vs page post engagement is a good place to start
I currently have 65 emails for $50 spend so far. Is that bad? No sales yet tho. I have a 51% contact conv rate
Update:
No orders yet
201 visitors
110 emails
What are you collecting emails for? If it's a discount code, there's definitely some interest in your product. Don't let the email addresses just sit there and grow stale. Look up proven email sequences and put together your own to capitalize on the assets you've purchased so far.
At the same time, you can retarget those email addresses (they're already familiar with your brand and offer) and try to overcome objections in your creatives or offer them an even stronger incentive to buy (just an idea: "The discount code we sent you yesterday will expire in 2 hours. This is your last chance to get X for 25% off. Your discount code: CAT-A-PULT").
You can build different retargeting ads and escalate over time (from friendly reminder to this is your last chance).
Lots of things you can test. Start experimenting.
nice. Are you selling people hard with your emails?
I have no emails setup at all yet. I am working on it right now.
i appreciate the feedback. I am doing a free with shipping. In my fb ad I do not mention with shipping. Should I?
If you want to do any serious damage with Free + Shipping, you'll need to be a bit more strategic than this. Few tips:
1) Mention in the ad that they have to cover shipping. "Just pay for shipping / Just cover shipping " work fine.
2) Start firing "Page View", "Add to Cart" and "Purchase" pixels. First, you can optimize for Page View / Add to Cart conversions, once you have enough data you move on optimizing for Purchase conversions. You'll also use these pixel events to create look-alike audiences later one that will help you to scale.
3) Setup a killer cart-abandonment e-mail sequence. If you do F+S you'll have tons of e-mails because of the abandoned checkouts and you need to do your best to recover these.
4) Setup retargeting campaigns and segment them based on 1) visitor who only viewed the item and 2) visitor who started the check out but abandoned it. You can use any third-party retargeting app for this or set it up yourself.
5) Test different upsells once you have figured out how to sell the core product at an acceptable cost.
Final tip: Accept the fact the most products will not work. F + S takes a lot of testing. You have to nail several factors to make it work: the right product, the right audience, the right message and so on. It's a bit like selling T-shirts where you need to launch dozens of designs to find the one or two that produce good results.
Thanks for the input. I have spent 250. I currently have 8 sales. I have collected 224 emails. Very broad targeting at this point I will try to implement all that has been discussed. I have a lot to learn. I'm not sure how to create rules for emails. All of this is new, but I am happy with what as happened so far. Also, I placed 1 order with aliexpress and now there is a security issue! They want some very private information that I don't feel comfortable giving out. I did find an eBay item that still gives me a little profit. I am open to suggestions.
Do you guys still use Aliexpress? Am I safe "verifying" my personal info with their security protocol?
