Hey y'all.
*This is my first campaign and attempt at AM so please bear with me if I get any terminology wrong.*
I'm promoting a Clickbank product in the parenting niche on Facebook. I'm using a video ad with the objective of video views. It's a 1 minute video I created consisting of text/music/photo. The ad uses a "Learn More" button which takes people to my blog post where the affiliate hoplinks live. The hoplink goes to the vendor's product landing page that uses a 30 minute animated sales video.
On a new ad I'm testing, 33% of blog visitors are following my hoplink to the product page. So, with a $5 daily ad spend today, I received 9 clicks to the blog post and 3 clicks on the affiliate hoplink. I've received a couple dozen hops on previous ad tests. However, none are following through to the purchase page; therefore no conversions yet.
I know this is likely not enough data to get a true measure of ad success, so that's not necessarily what I'm asking about.
My question is regarding the sales video's length. (Not my 1 min FB ad video.) The product landing page uses a 30 minute video as its main selling tool. Given that all people viewing are using a mobile device (I had no success with desktop FB placement), is it realistic to assume enough people will truly sit still for a 30 minute sales video and make the purchase on their phone?
My hypothesis is that people may truly be interested but don't have the attention span to watch enough of a 30 minute sales video to purchase on a mobile device. Especially if they were directed there from their quick-paced Facebook experience. Should I be focusing on collecting emails to retarget people? That way they can access the link later at their leisure from either their mobile or desktop?
I know I should be working on my list anyway, but I've been running campaigns for 2 weeks now, so I haven't set that up yet. It's on my list of things to do, but should I move it to the top of my list?
You need to buy way more data to make any conclusion.
And yes, people watch long VSLs on mobile. And they do even buy shit after watching for 30 minutes.
I do mobile native -> Pre-Lander -> VSL
It takes about 200 Pre-Lander impressions for one conversion. Lander has 60% CTR without any scripts.
Works only for me with high payouts $100-200 range.
Whats your offer payout?
Anyway, I would test a short written pre-lander as well. But if already desktop does not fly, the offer probably is not a winner.
