Hi there,
I see a lot of Desktop gaming offers in my spytool.
When I asked my rep from a gaming company, she replied to me that it probably is very hard.
They have some game offers running themself but that's it.
What do you guys think?
Any idea on what would be the best approach?
Right now I was thinking of smaller networks, or tier 1 Geo's with cheaper CPC's .
Like to hear it.
Desktop games used to rock it some time ago, they were huge on facebook too. These days, I think mobile games are promoted more than desktop, but I still see ads for desktop games pretty often.
The problem with games is, they need very precise targeting, which is something only FB can provide... so Im not sure about the plan to use smaller networks.
If you want to test this vertical, I would rather start with mobile games - mobile apps.
You need a big budget to work your way through the placements on the standard native networks, or a native network that offers you more than the standard black & whitelisting.
Something like interest targeting or channel targeting e.g. "Geeks & Gaming" and "Software & Downloads" on revcon. But those are brutal channels...lots of bot traffic.
However, I would look into different verticals for desktop native. Games not worth the hastle.
Or do as Matuloo suggested and look into mobile or mobile native.
Thanks guys. I already did a small test. Together with these answers it helps me a lot.
native + desktop gaming worked pretty well in the last 6 months, now it's getting harder, but honestly to make really big numbers out of it, you need to have solid relationships with right network(s) or directly with advertisers, for me it took almost two years to built it. But I believe, it's everywhere like this, after they trust you, you will get higher payouts, bigger caps, inside info, etc.
