where now , after my first campaign .
Hello
I am new in AM , not in other feilds . this is my first post .
So , yesterday i felt some energy and decided to launch my first serious work after a month of reading .
My first campaign was from the worst network around ( i know that but i said np lets test )
Campaign A
GEO: SA
TS: Propellerads
Vertical: Sweepstakes
Creatives: Direct
Landing page: n/a
Daily Budget: 20 USD
TS impressions 20k
Voluume impressions 16k
Network Impressions : 800 / the network takes 3 seconds to load the LP !!
Conversions : 1 / $1.34
Loss: - $19
Due to the difference between TS and Network's impressions , i stopped this .
Campaign B / Network MaxBounty
GEO: DE
TS: Propellerads
Vertical: Sweepstakes Win iphone 7
Landing page: 1 ,simple one from Adplexity .
Daily Budget: 20 USD
CPM : 1$
TS impressions 25k
Voluume impressions 22k
clicks : 57
Conversions : 0
CTR : 0.26%
Loss: - $20
My landing page has a loading time of 300ms .
About the TS , the traffic came quickly , i didnt have the chance to stop the "bad" zones , so i decreased my CPM to 0.5$ , maybe it was better to switch to distributed delivery instead .
I considered every zone with more than 200 visit / 0 click is bad , and i execluded it .
some zones have 1 visit / 1 click ! .
some zones have 1750 visit / 1 click so i execluded it .
I have some questions here to move on ,any advice is appreciated :
- should i continue with B , after i gathered a list with bad/good zones .
- is my approach true about bad/good zones , is there a common fixed ratio , visits/click ? , should i ran a Bot test , is it wise to run 20$ for bot test !
- can i cache the LP with cloudflare , i think the Voluum's query data will be lost , am i correct , or should i give it a try.
- will someone recommend a better network for sweeps ?
- what is the competition here for this GEO (DE) , i mean how i compete here , the visitor has no choice to choose between 2 Ads , is it the CPM , while i have plenty of impressions at $0.5 , i dont get it .
Thank you all .

Off to a great start!
A few thoughts:
-Sweeps offers usually don't convert well when direct-linked. Visitors need to know why they're being entered into a contest to win, and a lander should explain this "why". (Exception: Offers that have pre-landers built-into the offer.)
-Testing just 1 lander isn't the best way to go. I would suggest testing every different-looking lander you can find on adplexity. You need to test wide to find gold.
-If you need to refer to a simple strategy on running sweeps on pop, please see the end of this post:

Fantastic! Now you just need to test more landers.

When you're getting a lot of traffic volume, cutting aggressively from the start is the way to go. Remember however, that when you find a better offer and lander later after more testing, you should re-test some of the stuff you cut at the beginning - because some of that will be profitable then.
Especially for high-traffic geos, it would be good to run a bot test in the beginning and pause placements that have high percentages of bot traffic - here's a step-by-step:

- should i continue with B , after i gathered a list with bad/good zones .
I would suggest testing more than 1 offer, and testing a LOT more landers than just one. It's a common newbie trap to take a camp doing high-negative ROI and try to get green by cutting placements. Doing so will cost you a lot more, and you may not even have time to recoup your losses before the camp stops being profitable (as many pop camps are short-lived). Take your camp to green by testing landers and offers, and by identifying good and bad traffic segments, instead of relying on cutting placements alone.
- is my approach true about bad/good zones , is there a common fixed ratio , visits/click ? , should i ran a Bot test , is it wise to run 20$ for bot test !
I can't provide a cutoff for visits/click, but if you're seeing that most of the placements are giving you 50%+ CTR for example, and a few placements are showing <1% CTR for example, then you KNOW something must be wrong with them.
You don't need to spend $20 on a bot test! The step-by-step I've linked to above will explain things in detail - basically you just need to run 60+ impressions to the biggest placements and make a cutting decision. There's no need to run EVERY placement to 60+ impressions - just the major placements. Chances are there will be a ton of small placements each giving you a few impressions here and there - would be a bad use of time to do a bot test for those.
You can run a bit of traffic to the camp, then temporarily pause all placements that have reached 60+ impressions, run another bit of traffic and repeat. When you feel you've run enough placements to 60+ impressions, unpause all placements except the ones with heavy bot traffic, and run your camp for real (without the bot script).

Voluum's query data will be lost , am i correct , or should i give it a try.
Yes! In fact you're encouraged to use a CDN for landers!
Voluum's query data will not be lost as long as you're implementing tracking correctly - CDN or not.
- will someone recommend a better network for sweeps ?
Do you mean aff networks or traffic networks? Many/most cpa aff networks carry sweeps offers - if you check offer aggregators like offervault.com, or services like makemassive, you'll see where the sweeps offers are for geos you're wanting to target, and for a specific type of sweeps offers you're wanting to run.
For traffic networks - basically all non-adult pop sources will work for sweeps. Zeropark, PopAds, Popcash, and Propeller which you're already running with, are the most popular. I would start with those.
(Disclaimer: STM does not endorse the use of any traffic networks - please buy traffic at your own discretion.)
- what is the competition here for this GEO (DE) , i mean how i compete here , the visitor has no choice to choose between 2 Ads , is it the CPM , while i have plenty of impressions at $0.5 , i dont get it .
DE is pretty competitive. For your next geo, I would suggest picking something from Asia, Africa, or Latin America. Also, when running pop traffic, try not to bid too low or you'll get junk traffic that nobody is bidding for. When you're testing new landers and offers, you need to ensure your traffic quality is there. Otherwise, when you don't get conversions, you won't know if it's your landers/offers/traffic that are causing problems.
For propeller, I would suggest to bid at least higher than the first "bend" in the traffic estimator graph. That way you wouldn't be the lowest bidder. For a tier 1 geo like DE I would bid at least above a dollar CPM to start. You can play with bids after finding a good lander and offer, but in the beginning you really need to make sure you're running good quality traffic, or else you won't be giving your offers and landers a good chance to perform.
