How to Effectively Up-Sell Cross-Sell and Down-Sell?

What's up, guys. I'm going to be launching a digital fitness product within the next 3 months and am struggling to fine-tune the details. I have a main product idea, but can't figure out a good price point or how to price and create upsells/downsells.

Here's what I'm thinking:

Main Product: "Body of an Alpha: How to Build The Lean, Shredded Physique That Women Go Crazy For"
Price: $27
Length: 150 pages or so

Beyond this, however, I'm having trouble figuring out what to upsell, bump, etc. What should I price these things at? How should I integrate them into my sales funnel?

Advanced Training Regimen (Workout routine for guys who want to take it to the next level)
Alpha Abs and Arms (an additional abs/arms workout, thinking this will be the lowest priced one)
Muscle Building Recipes (just a collection of various recipes that boost testosterone and are healthy)
Alpha Style Guide (guide to style for fitness physiques)

Any thoughts? I was thinking of having the flow be something like this:

Sales Funnel
Main product: Body of an Alpha ($27)
Order Bump: Muscle Building Recipes ($19)
Up-Sell: Advanced Training Regimen ($47)
Cross-Sell: Alpha Style Guide ($27)
Down-Sell: Alpha Abs and Arms ($19)

Thoughts? Would you adjust the flow or the pricing? Do you think it's "targeted" enough?

Thanks! Let me know guys

-Joe

Looks good to me!

Ideally you'd want to split-test price points just like you would split-test sales letter headlines, or product names. Data never lies.

One thought: If you'll be mainly promoting the product yourself, then I'd suggest to price the main product cheaper to lower the barrier to entry. However, if you'll mainly be depending on affiliates to promote the offer, then it may be best to test your suggested price (or even a higher one) first, in order to be able to afford higher commissions to attract more affiliates.

Best of luck with this! Sounds promising.

Hmm, interesting. So maybe something like:

Sales Funnel
Main product: Body of an Alpha ($19)
Order Bump: Muscle Building Recipes ($9)
Up-Sell: Advanced Training Regimen ($27)
Cross-Sell: Alpha Style Guide ($17)
Down-Sell: Alpha Abs and Arms ($9)

Also what are your thoughts on the "7 vs 9" debate in pricing. Some people say that anything ending in 9 tends to outsell even a cheaper product, but a quick look at clickbank shows that nearly all of the top selling fitness products are $47

Oh I wouldn't suggest lowering the prices of the other products!

The point of making the first one cheaper is so you can get more people into your funnel. When most people haven't yet had a chance to know about you or your product, pricing too high may deter people from buying.

However, for the upsell, assuming your original product is of high-quality, upselling at higher prices shouldn't be a problem. You want customers to think "hey if this $19 ebook delivered such good value, then the $47 product must at least be twice as good!" (And of course, your upsell will need to be good as well, in order to keep refund rates low.)

As for 7 vs. 9 - in the end, we can speculate all we want, but every niche and every product is different, so I would highly recommend to split-test price-points.
