I'm just about to start testing with SiteScout and my new A4D account.
My rep recommended a skin wrinkle offer to run in Australia. That's as good as any and hopefully Oz traffic won't burn my test budget as fast as US.
I've done my usual Google ad planner, quantcast, compete research to come up with a list of sites that suit middle aged women, but none of those are available on sitescout.
In sitescout, If I choose Australia as a site filter, I get a bunch of .com, .eu, .co.uk that are nothing to do with Australia. When I filter by .au I get a few genuine Aussie sites, but quantcast says the demo is a bit cock heavy for my liking.
My conclusion is that sitescout may not be very good at driving traffic to middle aged Aussie women. Am I going about this the wrong way?
Cheers
I'll be following your success (I hope) with interest, as I found Oz traffic to be expensive on POF.
doubt you going to see much volume for aus traffic on SS, and you are going to have to bid high cpm to get any impressions.
Ya there isn't a huge amount of AU traffic on our platform, but there is some. There are two reasons for this:
1) Adoption of real-time bidding by Asia-Pacific publishers is about 1-2 years behind the US.
2) We have yet to setup a data center presence in Asia-Pacific to unlock (and win) the traffic in that region. We do have plans to expand there soon though.
Thanks for your replies, I think I will find a new offer to promote for this first test.
Cheeky question, any tips?
change your AM he obviously gave you dud advice
hmmm. maybe a bit harsh. But do let your AM know that his advice was crap and that your expecting better next time.
Australian traffic in general is expensive as fuck.... because it tends to convert and back out really well, plus it's something of a limited market that many advertisers are trying to penetrate (see click prices on FB for an example)
If you have a limited testing budget look more towards non-English speaking countries and UK, Canada etc.
aus. dating converts very well (not sitescout) and backend quality is really good, just gotta get the right offer to it , i.e speeddate. ya you will pay high cpc but epc will be killer.
I remember reading a quote in the Sunday Times a while back, that said that if you open a business in Australia it is statistically more likely to succeed than in any other country of the world.
