Need Help optimizing on traffic junky ....
Hi I have started my first campaign on traffic junky, and I am unsure where to start
I have a few questions
*what is a good CTR on traffic junky,
*do you check your overall CTR or your CTR per placement is more important
*How much impressions do you wait to get before you start cutting off placements
*traffic junky is showing i received 800 clicks which is not possible, my tracker is showing i received 100 clicks
let me know if you can help
thank you

Hey, Goku!
How's it going?
Let me answer your questions and also offer you some general suggestions!
"What is a good CTR on Traffic Junky?"
I'd rather set CTR for different segments (Country+Operator), for different display formats, and only then for different networks.
Moreover, it varies according to your method. You can use catchy banners like fake buttons to get the the highest CTR, or try to find decent pics/gifs which are suitable to the traffic source and maybe even have some connection with the offer's landing page.
Plus: CTR can be higher or lower, due to the following reasons:
- General quality of the traffic
- Bid and position in a ranking for your specific targeting
- Banner quality
There are only a few CTRs I'd consider normal for the 300x100 banner.
IN 2-3 %
IT 1-1.5 %
AR 1.5 - 2 %
For the interstitial or instant message formats, I'd expect the rate to be around 0.5% higher.
"Do you check your overall CTR or your CTR per placement is more important?"
I check everything! It depends on what I'm looking for. When I compare banners, I check overall CTR. If I wanna optimize targeting or placements, I then check each parameter's CTR.
"How many impressions do you wait to get before you start cutting off placements?"
IMHO it's better to look not only at impressions, but also at the costs. One of the fundamental media buying rules is to cut things that are costing double of the payout.
However, don't cut everything that reaches this limit at the same time. Cut things gradually. Why? Because excluding bad parts one at a time will increase the performance of all the rest!
"Traffic Junky is showing i received 800 clicks which is not possible, my tracker is showing i received 100 clicks"
Contact your network's support team so they can help you figure out what's happening!
If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Good luck!

1. The CTR on TJ will go anywhere from 0.05% when using a standard dating banner in a footer spot all the way up to 1% or more in case of a tier3 GEO NTV spot with a playbutton banner. Mobile traffic will have higher CTR than desktop.
As Mobidea already wrote above, you need to specify what kind of banners and spots you use.
2. Overal CTR is not something you should focus at, always go down to the placement/banner level. You want to check what banners get what CTR on what placements. You also bid for every placement separately.
3. The 2x payout rules is a good baseline rule to follow. You can start with that and make your own rules to follow on the go.
4. Where do you host your tracker and landing pages? What tracker are you using? There could be a problem with your hosting. Also, your tracker shows 100 hits or 100 clicks through the landing page? There will always be some difference but this is way too big.

Hey, mate!
*what is a good CTR on traffic junky,
It depends on site/spot/banner. There are no "average" figures.
*do you check your overall CTR or your CTR per placement is more important
The best option here is to split every spot and every site. Cause performance of each spot is different. CTR is good, but only when clicks bring us leads.
*How much impressions do you wait to get before you start cutting off placements
Hm.. I think it's bad to focus on impressions. You need to spend 2-3 offer payout on each banner, to make decision.
*traffic junky is showing i received 800 clicks which is not possible, my tracker is showing i received 100 clicks
This difference is very huge. 8-x times. I think you need to contact your tracker support manager.
With our experience with Traffic Junky, we have 10% difference (tracker-traffic junky stats).

I experienced the same problem today. TJ showed 800 clicks, hasoffers showed 180 clicks.
Sorry for jumping in that thread, but just wanted to share this.
Edit:
"It appears we may be having a stats issue. A colleague of mine is currently
investigating with our IT/Dev team. I will update you when I have more
information. In the meantime, can you specify any campaigns affected by
this? I'd need the campaign IDs so I can add them to the support ticket."

Im using TJ too and my stats looks normal, maybe they had some isolated problem, but I didnt notice anything out of the ordinary.
Try restarting traffic and see if the numbers match now, based on my experience with TJ, the numbers they show usually match almost exactly with what the tracker catches.
Where do you host your landing pages btw? You didn't answer one more question I had, those 100 clicks were visits recorded by
Voluum or the actual clicks on the landing page?
We need to sort out the tracking and clickloss first, then we can give you more advice regarding optimization.

Hey hey TJ is updating their user interface that's why you see differences in stats, usually you can get the reliable stats around 11AM , CET.
