What's the plan for 2017? Joining the league of Zuckerberg or Gates? Congrats on your success!

Hahah.. funny you say that.. the Polish media which are starting to pick up on our story (as we've kept our heads down for years) have on several occasions referred to me as the Polish Zuckerberg.. it's not so difficult relatively speaking to earn that title in PL though! Also.. I'm not sure if I like it :P

Cheers!

Yup, definitely see what you mean, I'm just in the neigbour country to yours - Slovakia - so I know it's not so hard to stand out in terms of internet entrepreneurship in this part of the world Even thou Codewise would stand out in the western world by now anyways

Stop it, you're making me blush! Thanks Matuloo

We gotta put this part of the world on the map of innovation! We got Avast from CZ but that's about it. We're not just good at making pierogies and eating potatoes and bryndzove halushky (delicious btw!) :P

There are more, for example Eset in Slovakia is huge, there is also the company behind the Sygic GPS navigation and we also have a pretty large mobile game studios : Pixel Federation and InLOgic are the biggest ones ... there are more companies of course, but these are the most known ones, I'm sure you heard of some too.

Sorry, I guess I was thinking in terms of Unicorns as that's what gets attention these days (sadly) - you are absolutely right, there are quite a few!

Congratulations, amazing progress in such a short time! Love your approach to running a business - put people first and the profits will follow.

Eset and Sygic both are kind of unicorns too, as far as I know, both are self funded and developed their own products that reached world wide success. Then again, I didnt really lookup a definition of a unicorn in terms of business, so I might be wrong

The definition of a unicorn is being valued at $1B+ by either a funding round or an IPO - essentially a valuation determined by external investors. Some companies (such as Codewise) do not seek outside investment and as such do not have an 'official' valuation until they do so. Other companies do sketchy shit to avoid taxes and as such are not considered as they do not disclose their financials - even though in theory they may be worth over $1B. I couldn't find any information about funding rounds for ESET or Sygic or them being publicly listed.

In Poland, there's an amazing company called CD Projekt, developers who made the Witcher games, their market cap is well over $1B, but.. they're owned (50%) by another corporation which disqualifies them.

Then there is LiveChat which makes, quite literally what its name states. They have a market cap of $300M.. with revenues and an EBITDA far lower than ours

It's all a bit fickle.. but it's the way it works.

Hey Robert,

You posted a picture on your Facebook a year ago.

It was a status update from yourself where you were nervous about quitting your job.

Such a powerful post because you started off just like everyone else, but took things to multiple levels in such a short amount of time.

Thanks for inspiring me.

I appreciate it Charles! I remember that post.. found it for reference. it was less than 6 years ago that I quit my job. Boggles my mind looking back, I had little to no idea what I was doing then.. just went with my gut feeling that affiliate marketing would take me places!

That reminds me of Jan Koum and Brian Acton before launching WhatsApp.

Jan Koum posted on FlyerTalk asking for feedback on his new iPhone app (WhatsApp) in 2009:

Brian Acton tweeted about FB turning him down in 2009 (before joining WhatsApp):

5 years later they sold WhatsApp to FB for ~$19 billion USD.
