Video Ads vs Image Ads on FB's Optimization Algo

Hello almighty STM community,

Wanted to ask if anyone notices that there is a bias towards Video Ads instead of Image Ads when you set up Ads within the same Ad set on FB? Because it seems that my image ads are not getting many views versus my video ads so my suspicion is that FB ranks video ads higher so in their effort to optimize they are serving the videos ad more? Is this observation true?

Also if that is the case, then to get a fair test between video and image should I be setting up a duplicate ad set but with the images only to ensure they are getting the proper views they should be or is that not really necessary?

Thanks,
SP

That's right. In general try to put 3 images or videos in one ad set only so they get the right attention.
