Amazon conversion tracking through affiliate links?

Hi all,

I'm new to STM and have been really enjoying the plethora of content here. I know my request is a bit out of scope, but I was hoping to hear from some people more experienced than me. I work for a company that sells predominantly through Amazon and we're trying to track conversions of the traffic we send over. There are only two ways I can think of to accomplish this:

1. Incorporate coupon codes into the funnel: ad > landing page w/ discount code lead magnet > collect email address. Then we can follow up with the person if the discount code wasn't used and find out when it was used.

2. Make all the Amazon links in our ads affiliate links.

Here are the challenges I face.

1. The CEO can't be convinced that we should be pushing for sales directly from our website, even though tracking would be 100% under our control.
2. The CEO and sales guy are pretty against using discount codes listed in the first approach above.

So that leads me back to making every link an affiliate link. I don't want to tie the affiliate account to our business account because I feel like this is against Amazon T&Cs, but it sounds like they do review the sites that the affiliate links will be placed on. If we did that, they'd easily see what we're doing.

Does anyone have any insight into a better way to track Amazon conversions?

Thanks for your help!
