Traffic Source for Adult Toy Store? (8)

Hi all,

Wondering what is the best traffic source (white hat) to be promoting something like an adult toy store? Is this something that would work on FB or Google or would that probably have a high risk of getting accounts banned.

Regular tube traffic is not likely to sell adult toys, wouldn't even try that.

Adult toy stores are usually used as supplemental income sources on established sites that simply create another "subdomain", place a whitelabel shop on it and make it part of the site menu to send some visitors there. The next step is to try to rank that whitelabel and get SE traffic to it - SE traffic always worked best for these types of products.

This being said, you might consider buying some "menu tab" traffic, I think etology or adnium were selling these. You could also try members area traffic, but that's some expensive shit.

Softcore versions of these shops could also be promoted on adwords - review sites of a limited amount of toys could do well with this approach. Not sure about FB, even softcore stuff is immediately reported by the users - I almost got my account banned after I ran a few boost for this FB page : https://www.facebook.com/HotFishingBabes/

Another idea would be to look for community sites and see if you can advertise there - think about forums for swingers and amateur communities. I'm pretty sure these people are heavy users of such products.

Regular tube traffic is pretty much the worst traffic you can buy, those guys don't want to buy anything, only broad appeal offers have a chance here - dating, some male enhancement products, cams etc ... Toys are generally hard to sell, you need specific traffic for it. On top of that, the commissions are rather low too. The only chance would be to have a super unique product that is really hyped, like the fleshlight used to be, that was a game changer for a few years, but I'm not aware of anything like that right now. Or a product with super high margin, think like : buy for $5 sell for $50 including shipping

Also i second Matuloos point on forums and the like, can be sponsorded sections, display banners, write up, etc.

Since promoting it might be more tricky than your normal mainstream product it would be wise to focus some time in building a list of prospect and buyers so you can go back to them.

Social platforms can definitely be good sources of traffic for this, but focus on organic traffic, not paid ads on them.
