GT - General Guidelines When Running Coreg Campaigns

I think you have all received lately the "scary" emails from GT / SilverPath / Mundo about the new compliance rules in the mobile space.

I've been talking to my GT AM (who is a member here ) and he sent me a list of rules I'm sharing here.

IMPORTANT : Not following these rules not only will get your GT account terminated right away but you might get fined in the $x,xxx, xxx range.

So here are the general guidelines from GT's terms :

· Please also pay close attention to section 6.5 of the Game Theory Terms & Conditions, which can be found at http://www.gametheory.com/terms_conditions.php.

· No Spamming of any kind – Facebook, Craigslist, IM chat clients, etc.

· No Content Locking sites where a user is forced to complete an offer to gain access to content

· No association with any sites offering “free movies” or other copyrighted content

· No association with Adult websites or those promoting guns, alcohol, drugs, or violence

· Do not work with any of our blacklisted Publishers as outlined in the IO you signed

· Do not I-frame our offers in any way that obscures pricing, terms, or other pertinent offer details

· Do not create landing pages that entice users to complete SMS offers by presenting false claims and/or deceptive advertising

· Give each of your landing pages the “Grandma Test”…if you sat your Grandma in front of the computer, would she be able to understand what she was signing up for?

If you are in doubt about your lp being compliant or not just hit your AM up.

If you have any questions Justin will chime in here to help you.

Also, following an email I got from Justin - "You cannot tell the user they've definitely won something that they haven't."

So all the landers you see claiming "complete our survey and we'll reward you with a free gift card/iphone/ipod" are certainly not compliant.

Instead of saying a user has won a prize, should say instead "see if you qualify to win".

I am glad you brought this up brock....what I don't think alot of affs realize is that the carriers fine the shortcode providers like GT and Mundo...hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines for not following the rules....

now with them passing those fines onto the aff there is no reason to be taking that risk......and they do watch for compliance....more than people realize.....

there is no point in risking your biz over this folks....

i couldn't sleep at night knowing i was running thousands of my money to uncompliant offers that may end in non payment lol..

Also - More recently, to add to that list:

- No use of the word 'Free'

- No indication that any of the steps in the path are required

I spoke with GT and they will be stopping any affiliates doing this, and I think bbrock32's coreg examples does both of these things so actually wouldn't be a compliant campaign any longer.

Really important you keep in the loop with your AM and keep up to date with compliance - what might be compliant today, may not be in a few weeks time.

MJDUB, I think the take away point here was that compliance is always being assessed, so whilst you shouldn't get fined for running approved landers... the goalposts of compliance certainly can shift and are shifting.

So one day you might be sleeping at night unaware that you are actually running uncompliant offers!

Exactly , the example I posted were compliant when I posted them , but are not anymore ( however can be if you make a couple small changes ).

Anyway , lesson is that things change very quickly in the coreg / mobile space so better keep in touch with your AM to avoid nasty surprises.
