Uber- Android India

Hi Guys,

I am following Caurmen's mobile appetizer (great job simplifying stuff Caurmen!)
Just launched my first campaign promoting Uber in India.
Here are the overall results :

Offer payout is $1.25 , I'm wondering how much I should be spending prior to stopping the campaign.

Here are the creatives:

And as a general strategy, how many offers should I be testing at a time, how many times offer payout should I be spending prior to cutting ads. What do you guys think of the creatives and any improvements I should make?

Thank you

Craig

Hi friend, how are you persecuting traffic?

11-13-2016 04:41 PM #3 njerseycraig (Member)

Traffic is from Gotomobi which I would HIGHLY recommend as it has one of the best tracking platforms I've seen to date. I am buying the traffic from Smaato through Gotomobi.

Do you guys think I should stop this campaign or spend more or make some changes.

Thanks
Craig

The banners are bad, the ctr is low. Are you direct linking or using a pre lander? Get a spy tool to see what banners are being used by other affiliates and to see if people are running it In-app or in Pops. I know uber usually gives people some $ for their first ride, try to use that as an angle. You have no conversions yet so difficult to filter any placement, but get rid of all the flashlights apps.

Draper, thanks for your response, can you give some reasons why the banners are bad this way I can fix them. These are all direct linked. What spy tool would you recommend (I cant afford to spend $100 for the popular ones, max ill spend is $10-30 for a spy tool). Also what would you consider a good click to ratio (does the fact that I have a bad one mean that my banners are bad)? What flashlight apps should I get rid off?

Thanks
Craig

The reasons why the banners are bad is because your ctr is low. Bad banners = low ctr, good banners= high ctr. Get ride of any flashlight app placement. The best spy tool (adplexity) cost $149 (earlybird coupon), you are not going to find a good spy tool for that price range.

I dont agree that the banners are bad. What is really bad is your CR at 0% and thats the issue.
For a simple app install campaign you should have gotten some conversions already out of 220 clicks or is the conversion point CPI + an action (first ride for example)? And did you double check that tracking is working correctly?

Here is the postback URL I'm using at the affiliate network to track conversion
&clickid=[conversion id]&payout=[conversion revenue]

Here are the placeholders used by the affiliate network:
System-wide Parameters (Placeholders)

The transaction ID of your completed

[conversion revenue]

The revenue you earn with your completed conversion

[conversion name]

The name of your conversion transaction (if theres any)

[conversion status]

The status of your conversion

[conversion amount]

The transaction amount of your conversion

[conversion date]

Your conversion time

[confirm date]

The confirmation time of your conversion

[traffic source name]

The traffic source which attributed to the conversion

[campaign name]

The campaign your conversion belongs to

[campaign type]

The type of the campaign your conversion belongs to

[offer id]

User-defined Parameters (Placeholders)

[dv1]

Dynamic variable 1 is posted back to you upon conversion completion, please note that dynamic variables are defined within each click redirection link (e.g. &dv1=XXXXXX)

[dv2]

Dynamic variable 2 is posted back to you upon conversion completion, please note that dynamic variables are defined within each click redirection link (e.g. &dv2=XXXXXX)

[dv3]

Dynamic variable 3 is posted back to you upon conversion completion, please note that dynamic variables are defined within each click redirection link (e.g. &dv3=XXXXXX)

[dv4]

Dynamic variable 4 is posted back to you upon conversion completion, please note that dynamic variables are defined within each click redirection link (e.g. &dv4=XXXXXX)

[dv5]

Dynamic variable 5 is posted back to you upon conversion completion, please note that dynamic variables are defined within each click redirection link (e.g. &dv5=XXXXXX)

Do you think the conversions are being tracked correctly & if so do you think I should spend more cash testing this campaign or should I make some modifications and retest.

Thank you
Craig

Original postback URL I was using was:
&clickid=[conversion id]&payout=[conversion revenue]

spoke to my affiliate manager and she said the postback needs to be like this:
&dv1=[conversion id]&dv2=[conversion revenue]

So its a tracking issue?

Always doublecheck and test tracking before taking any campaign live. After that, even when you're sending traffic, compare your own stats with the stats you can find in the affiliate network's dashboard. There shouldn't be more than 5% discrepancy between the two systems. Make sure to determine in the IO on whose stats the invoicing will be based on.

Once you see tracking is fully working and there's no discrepancy between your stats and the network, you can start optimizing and scaling up.

Its still not showing any conversions, Im just going to drop the campaign, not sure if this was an issue with the postback URL. But there were no conversions shown at either the traffic source or the affiliate network

Hi Craig! Nice follow-along so far!

With mobile display traffic, unless the offer page is very attractive AND the offer requires very little or no selling, banner angle will be crucial to success.

This basically means that you'll just have to test a wide variety of angles in headlines and images until you hit on an angle that will convert.

Since you don't have an Adplexity account yet - I did a search on Adplexity for you and found some landers, and one banner. Hopefully they'll give you some ideas. The "free rides" angle as suggested by members above would DEFINITELY be an angle to test first. You can get the landers and banner here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/tc44wd0t0ofvcsc/Uber.7z?dl=0

Disclaimer: I have no idea whether these landers can be fixed up to function without issues. I don't have ownership for these creatives, and cannot be held responsible for any consequences that may result from their use. I've simply downloaded them from Adplexity as-is.

Just in case you have trouble fixing up the landers and want to re-create them - here's what they look like:

And here's the one banner I found:

Also - I see that we've already discussed your tracking issue here:

Has that been resolved? Please let me know if you need further help.
