Newbie's doubts with offer choice

Hello guys!

I've been reading around looking for some informations on how to search for some promising offers.

There are many strategies but two on them gave me some doubts.

1. Spytools use. You look for offers that are receiving/have received a lot of traffic and/or have run/are running for some time. The offers that have these characteristics MAY be converting so we search for these offers (or similar) in our networks and start to promote.

My questions here are: Did this strategy work for you? Do you know any other one with spytools?

2. Vertical-Geo-Network's top converting offers strategy. You choose a vertical, choose a country and ask your AM/look in your networks the 3 top offers with the highest CR in that vertical and Geo. After that you test those offers in order to find a winner and optimize.

My doubts here is about Geo choice
I'd like to choose Tier 2 countries although, being a newbie, it is strongly suggested to choose Tier 3 Geos like Kenya, Brazil, Chile etc. My problems with these tier 3 geos are:
- I have had a relative small amount of traffic until now
- Looking in my networks' offers lists I see that there aren't many offers for the chosen verticals and tier 3 geos. Moreover these offers are not always suitable for the traffic sources I'm using, have a big payout, etc.
- In order to make creatives for some of those Geos I should pay for translations. Since I know I'd test a lot of creatives and I'd have to pay a lot for translation I would like to save some money for testing, buying spytools etc.

With this said, in order to use this strategy I'm inclined to choose Tier 2 countries like Italy because I know italian, Singapore, and countries with english language. Can anybody help?

1. Top offers and LP in Spytools not always show the truth. Top Affiliates know how to hide or replace their streams for Spy bots.
What offers Now good/hot you can ask your manager in aff network. But this are highly dependent from your relationship with manager.

Also, a lot depends from vertical with which you work. For example, if you work with Mobile Carrier Traffic, you need to pay attention to networks news.

If you analyze such top, then immediately obvious that you need to look offers in UAE, IT, PL..etc. If analyze top from 2-3 networks and comparing them, you can find TODAY-hot countries .

2. For start, you do not need to spend money on translation. Take 2-3-5 different LP variants from SPYTools. That would be enough to check offer.

There's nothing wrong with targeting Tier 2 countries as a newbie, depending on what you're classing as Tier 2.

The only country I'd really strongly recommend avoiding whilst you're new is the US, and maybe also the UK, just because the laziness factor of being able to write creatives in English attracts a LOT more competition.

As for offer choice: there's no magic bullet. Try both approaches, but most importantly, test a lot of offers.

I have always thought about this, that's why I'm going to ask them the CR for each offer, I don't think they will fake it

AMs will often show you a screenshot, so nothing faked. Just keep in mind, the data they will show you will almost always be a "network average". So a mix of all kinds of traffic and data from all levels of affiliates, newbies and pros, all mixed together. So your actual results can be WAY different!

The last 2 posts above me sum it perfectly! ^^^

Here is some advice from me as well:

You have to decide on vertical and geo and test everything out.

Everywhere are bad and also good offers, you just have to test enough to make them work.

Good advice is to not jump from one thing to another.

For example when I was starting out I was focusing only on "utility app installs", eventually I made them work very fast.

If I would jumped to other verticals, traffic sources etc., I would never made it.

Definitely. DO NOT test sweeps one day, adult the next, installs the third and CPS offers the fourth.

Learn one vertical, and learn it in depth.

Thanks everybody! This is what I'm going to do: I'll choose one vertical, see in which country its offers have the highest CR/have the best volume and start to test.

Possibly, I will change the vertical (or the country) if it will perform bad
