Newbie question: Best offers to run on a group of Adult sites? (15)

Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to running offers on an Adult site. I have a new adult traffic source with about 600,000 unique visitors per month and 2 million page views per month. It's a group of adult sites with about 70% mobile/30% desktop traffic from its site visitors. Content is mostly photos with some videos also included. Traffic is mostly from Asia, Europe and US/Canada.

Any suggestions on what type of mobile offers and desktop offers to run on this network of Adult sites?

Any suggestions on recommended affiliate networks to find these offers?

I'm asking because there are several options to monetize an adult site, other than just utilizing banners spots.

In case you have access to banner spots only, your best bets are dating, cams and male supplements. In the order I wrote it.

You can start with the most common networks like advidi, adsimilis, clickdealer for both mobile/desktop and kimia, Mobidea, brokerbabe for mobile only.

Thanks, Matuloo. To answer your question: I have access to the ad spots but I also have some influence with the owner of all the sites. I am interested in learning more about what you meant when you wrote "there are several options to monetize an adult site, other than just utilizing banners spots.".

Ok Jeff, let me give you a few tips, I'm gonna mention just the most important ones as I don't want to spend the whole day on it, which I actually could as there are so many options

1. first of all, signup for exoclick and ero-advertising in case you didn't yet - these two worked the best for me in the past. Run their ads in the zones for a few days, to get a baseline income idea - you will try to beat this later on with your own campaigns. More below.

2. Once you have the data, get some kind of and adserver and a GEO detection script. You will have to start to optimize the GEOs one by one. The GEOs you can manage yourself will be served ads from your adserver, the rest will be still monetized by the ad networks like exo or ero. Talk with your coders on how to manage this the best way. Basically, what you want to achieve is to monetize the best traffic yourself and sell the rest to some ad network. You need to be able to target mobile separately too.

3. 600k uniques per month is not a lot of traffic I'm afraid. Thats only 20 000 per day, so it's quite possible that the optimization will take you a long time and you won't be able to make more money this way and the best option will remain selling the spots to some ad network. But in case you can manage to grow, it will become a viable option.

You should also think about other ways than just serving network ads. A lot depends on the quality and nature of your traffic. What kind of sites is this actually, maybe PM me the domains so I can have a look if you don't want to post it here. Here are some options you can try :

1. the content is from some paysites I assume, try to link to them and maybe you will make a sale here and there.
2. write reviews for the top paysites that you have content from, make it a separate section of your sites and link to it from pages where that content is.
3. in case you have some history with adult affiliate programs, they will give you the option to sell discounted memberships - you can create a page with discounts and link to it from various places of the sites. Or you can try to collect emails and use discounted memberships as the lead magnet.
4. You can create tabs in the top menu and either monetize them yourself or try to sell them. Make it look like part of the header and use something like |DATING|LIVECAMS| ...
5. Try selling links on your site - for link popularity and also because they can send traffic.

There are more ways, but these should keep you occupied for a while

All of them can work, with the right audience. I'm afraid that the mix you have on your site, is not the right audience for this. To sell stuff like this, you need to target top tier GEOs, because its mostly billed via credit cards, that for example people in India don't have on such scale as US or EU residents. You can try that by using a GEO detection script and serve products like this to the most advanced GEOs and put up ad networks for the other ones.

These products require pretty accurate targeting and quite aggressive sales pitches. For example, I've seen the VPNs promoted by using the "you have been caught surfing porn sites, does your wife/boss/spouse ... know?" Scare tactics at its finest

Pick up courses seem to be on a decline now, they were promoted a lot not so long ago, but don't see them pretty much at all lately.

In all honesty, if you want to try some affiliate offers, start with dating.

Global dating redirect could be an option for sure. But to take full advantage, the OP would still need some kind of AD server to be able to show localized ADs to every GEO that you can monetize.
