Confusing recomendations from my rep on MaxBounty, please help

I am newbie in this business and just opened account with MaxBounty. My MaxBounty rep recommends me some vitamin offers with "Network EPC" around $0.13 - $0.15. But according to Google AdWords promoting such offers would cost me north of $1.50 per click. I obviously would not make any money. Is that a bad offer (despite being "recommended") or Google is a bad traffic source or is that something I do not understand, for example may be EPC is not what I think it is?

Network EPC is, as the name suggest, the EPC on all the network, not just from Google.

Also, you should reach a point where you know better than Google how much a click costs you and if you can make it profitable, not rely on generic metric averaged out of billions of impressions.

Some offers will not work on some traffic sources, that's a fact. In case you enter a niche in adwords that is occupied by branding advertisers, well you most likely can't compete against them.

On the other hand, branding advertisers can be lazy in a way, they will want the volume and bid on top level keywords to get it fast, so in your case its gonna be : vitamins, vitamin supplements... short ones like these. Since these can't be targeted properly, the CTR will be lower, thus the bids need to be very high. Google wants to make as much $ as possible, so give them ads with a higher CTR and they will gladly send you traffic for a lower bid. Long tail keywords is what you need : "vitamin supplements to make your hair grow" - pair it with a nice ad and the CTR will be WAY higher than the generic branding campaigns can achieve. The basic algo works very simple: "$0.50 bid with 3% CTR ad" will get the same exposure as a "$1.50 bid with a 1% CTR ad" - there are obviously MANY more factors that come into play here, but this is the basic match that assures they make the most money possible

On top of that, as Manu already mentioned above : the network EPC is a mix - it contains redirects, pop traffic, traffic from campaigns that don't convert, remnant traffic from networks that can't sell it otherwise ... with PROPERLY targeted QUALITY traffic, you can ALWAYS achieve higher EPC than the network wide value, ALWAYS!

Hey Barion,

As Manu and matuloo mentioned it is a network wide EPC. We have close to 20,000 active affiliates running campaigns every day. That being said not all 20,000 would be running that one campaign but there are affiliates out there who may send a lot of traffic and get low conversions. For example pop traffic is a lot cheaper than search so more volume is sent. To that affiliate a .15 EPC might be good enough as the traffic is a lot less expensive. What i always suggest is testing it out first. Even if you can break even off the start you are gathering more than just the money, you are gathering data on what is and what is not working which will allow you to increase that EPC/ROI down the road.

Also, don't be afraid to ask your affiliate manager if you have any questions, that is why they are there!
