Grey Hat - Hiring people - HELP

Hey there,

i'm making 4 figures a day at the moment working alone and i could easily make 5 figures a day if i get some helping hands (i could do it alone but im too lazy for that)

I did try to hire a VA a few times, but it never works, at least for me. This is really confusing for me as i don't have a clue where to begin, i dont even know if ill need an office or not.

My question is- How do you hire people and tell them that they have to deal with the shady part of Affiliate marketing? Like Account Farming or Work on Landing pages FILLED with fake promises?

Thank you.

Hey,

Tough to answer in a post...

Interview, test tasks, put them in front directly with the shady part.. And don't try to be ashamed of it or anything. Treat it like reality of the industry.. It's their decision to join or not.

Learn to test and fire quickly, that's the key.

For the long term, start reading some management books. Just choose top 5 management books from Google and read them. Then you will see what management style fits your personal style and you build on it.

You won't get it perfect, not even close but iteration is the key part, just like with landing pages and offers.

Regarding VAs, it makes the world of difference what the work culture is in their country usually. You have to learn that as well.. They have different needs and different things that motivated them compared to you. Your jobs is to train their skills and to fill in those needs.

Hope that's a good starting point for you. Will revisit this and see what else I can contribute.

Manu.

Interesting. I'm thinking to hire my friends but then they are not even qualified to turn a computer on, i tried hiring my sister several times, it never works out.

I need someone to farm my accounts, i can't think of a way to describe the job to a stranger. But if i hire a friend of mine, this part wont be tough however if they turn out to be lazy and unable to work properly i won't be able to fire them which will put me in a dilemma.

You can absolutely fire your friends of it doesn't work out

I would suggest keeping them totally in the dark about how much money you make. Pay them a fair average salary for the region you live in, nothing more. People can get greedy and entitled really fast....

I wouldn't worry about landers, false claims etc. As the business owner, you take the risk mainly. Their role is shielded from the media buying etc, can claim innocence. Likely slightly more interesting than a 9-5, so if they have issues can go back to a regular jo

Set clear office rules and expectations like working hours from the start. You are not running a frat house or charity - they work for your "advertising agency" now

Well, if they are not skilled, you have to train them.

If it's too expensive for time and money to train them, you can't hire them obviously.

Best would be to try and separate friendship and business, so if they are not suitable, you don't hire, or like Nick said, you can also fire them.

What you have to keep in mind is that even if you are OK with doing that, they may not be. You should also make distinctions between "some people you know and spend a lot of time with" and FRIENDS! More often than not, people mistake the former for the latter and then complain how friends let them down... They were never friends, they just liked hanging out in good times.
