newbie friendly traffic sources & affiliate networks for sweepstakes popups
I am a newbie looking to work on popup ads focusing on sweepstakes offers. What are some good traffic sources and affiliate networks (to buy ads) for web and mobile traffic and which ones are newbie friendly.
Thanks
Craig

Hello Craig, welcome to the forum!
Vortex wrote a good thread about POP traffic : http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...of-Pop-Traffic - traffic sources are included.
You can also read of mines, to better understand where this traffic comes from : http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...inition-1-POPS
Affiliate networks are places to get offers from, not to buy traffic at. Do you need recommendations for affiliate networks too?

Matuloo thanks for all your help, yes if you can recommend affiliate networks that are willing to work with newbies & still legit, that would be extremely helpful.

Adsimilis, addiliate and affiliaxe are the first 3 newbie friendly ones that came to my mind. You can continue with advidi, clickdealer, maxbounty ... yeahmobi, kimia,
Mobidea, brokerbabe(glize) for mobile stuff including adult ... there is a ton of them, all the ones I mentioned are proven legit operations - you don't need more than 2-3 at the beginning.

Thanks Matuloo, I will signup to all of these in the next few days. I'm guessing I also need to do more research on sweepstake offers (I will pick a few), popups (technical terms), what geos (thinking South America, Asia and Africa) and have a budget in mind ($1000 - $2000/month)in order to get approved once they do a phone interview. Once again thanks for you input

Also when signing up I see 2 option - publisher & advertiser. I'm guessing I need to signup as a publisher to be able to act as an affiliate marketer. Is that correct?

I copied my reply for you from an older thread : http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...raffic-Sources
Publisher is the one who has traffic. Advertiser is the one who wants traffic.
So on a traffic network, publishers are the owners of sites and advertisers are those who are buying traffic from them.
In the case of an affiliate network, the principle is the same, advertisers are those who want the traffic and publishers bring it. But since you already bought the traffic in a traffic network, you are now becoming the publisher.

1. Prepare a campaign before joining a traffic source. You don't need traffic until you have a campaign setup anyways, right? Once they ask about what you plan to promote on their network, just show them the campaign. You can say its a live campaign from another source and you're looking to scale. They have no way to check if its true. Obviously, start with a clean campaign not some aggressive antivirus LP
Excellent advice Matulo, I applied and got instantly approved to propeller, I signed up and am waiting approval from Adsimills and YTZ. I mentioned, budget, geo, vertical and popups in the initial email. I'm guessing whats left is the advice above on setting up a campaign i can show them if they ask, any suggestions on how to find currently active pop up campaigns and what tools I can use to make my own campaign prior to being approved by the affiliate networks.
Thanks for all the great advice.
Craig

Ok I got approved by Adsimills, basically they asked to see a screenshot of my traffic source, since I told them I am a newbie and told them what vertical I am focusing on and what offers in particular I want to target along with budget and GEOs over the Skype, they also asked what tracker I am using (Voluum). I had already setup my first campaign in the traffic source and mentioned I am a member here. After they saw all of the above they approved me.
