Pausing Campaigns: Does It Really Screw Up Your Campaign?

There is a lot of conflicting information on this topic: Does pausing a profitable campaign screw it up?

I have read many people say to never pause a profitable campaign or else facebook will "reset" and make you "start over", thus turning your profitable campaign into shit. Some people say that if you ever need to pause a campaign, you should lower your budget instead. Most of this information dates back to a few years ago, and I am sure Facebook's algo has changed many times over since then.

Is there a final consensus on what you should do in 2016?

Depends, are you running a conversion campaign? If so, you need to get 10 conversions/day to keep your adset "warm" otherwise it will lose the momentum...

Pausing for 8 hours per day right now. No issues. Running mid $x,xxx a day. Every day starts off just as the previous one left. Approx. 100 conversion/day.

Hi! As FB manager tolds us, it's undesirable to stop campaign, especially for website conversion campaigns, because it prevents fb to optimize your campaign. It's better just to decrease your budget
