Anything to do with affiliate marketing is usually not allowed to be run direct linked on FB. You will have to always cloak.

No need to cloacking with allowed verticals like gaming, sweepstake and voucher are not allowed so you will need cloacking here,
I need an advice about what s working on fb ads "mobile cpa" without losing my first account!

What?

Come on, this is such a patently false statement, by definition all agencies working on a performance basis with any advertiser are affiliate marketers.

You can run plenty of offers fine, you just have to be mindful of tracking links and how they work to avoid common pitfalls.

Games, app installs, eCommerce, lead gen, retail products, digital products, insurance, etc.

What I meant was generic affiliate offers which you get from affiliate networks, FB doesn't like them and doesn't allow them to run on their platform and this could be due to various reasons, banned tracking links, banned verticals or multiple other reasons.

Can anyone explain what cloaking is?

Cloaking is sending reviewers to a clean landing page using predefined rules (e.g. specific ISPs, IP addresses etc.) while sending all non-reviewers to your actual landing page.

Its a way to get around a traffic source's terms and conditions.

I am curious about FB... never used it for affiliate marketing before.

Let's say I want to promote a 3rd party retail product or service. I understand that I should have a FB page to do any advertising. May I use the same page for advertising more than one product? What are the 'common pitfalls' that I must avoid, or where I can learn about them?

Tks!

Affiliate marketers aren't banned on FB - this is a misconception...

If you're unsure about what's allowed and what's bh - first you can always ask your AM because they generally are aware which offer will pass on FB.
Don't run anything you feel is too much and calls for a ban. TBH, it's not even your lander/offer which will cause a ban but your ad because an aggressive or misleading ad will get a lot of flags from users which will lead to a ban sooner or later.

As a FB noob, I'd suggest you to consider 2 things:

1. Do you know any other languages than English? This could give you a competitive advantage because most affiliates want to run in English speaking countries. To get your feet wet tho - it will be a perfect opportunity to start with your local market...
2. Try offers with lower payout - so you can collect more data with less investment. You can still scale up a winning campaign even if it only pays low. Lead gen offers are easy to convert, you just need to find the right target audience.

Good luck!
