Hi all! I'm making this post to see if someone can help me with a campaign that I'm running for 2 months already, profiting from it but without having the power to scale it.
I'm running a desktop campaign on PopAds for a CPI tool and this are the main problems that i'm having now:
1- Once I target everything, the volume is very low, just enough to make $20-50 day depending on the day, but without having the ability to scale it.
2- Even trough I have profitable website's ID's, once i'm trying to target more browsers, the campaign goes in red.

That's my traffic estimation in popads right now, for some reason, the traffic actually declines on the profitability time (even trough i'm always the highest bidder) but my main concern is that I can't target browsers with more volume, once I target Chrome 53 the traffic goes up but I don't know why they don't convert. Also, once I target firefox in PopAds the traffic also goes up but by some reason the CTR is extremely low in firefox, and no one converts.
A paradoxical thing that happen is that even when I only target Chrome on PopAds, I get traffic from "Mozilla" on

So I don't know if there is something on the technical side that is making troubles with the latest versions of Chrome that are also the ones that have the most traffic and Firefox.
I just went ahead and decided to try to scale the campaign on PopCash but doe to them having almost no targeting options, I have the same problems that I get a lot of volume for Chrome 53, Mozilla Firefox that doesn't convert and also traffic from some versions that actually convert but again, Popcash has no targeting options so I can't do anything to create a profitable campaign with them.
I can't run it in propeller doe to the nature of the landing page and I don't want to get in to cloaking.
Maybe someone can point me in the right direction, thanks.
Sorry for the bad english.
Great you bring up the question regarding Chrome 53, I noticed lower conversion rates in this particular browser, which is currently the latest version from Chrome (and that's why there is the most traffic at the moment).
In my case it's on mobile, but there must be something about this version if it does the same on desktop as well.
Anyone else experienced the same thing?
You still got some awesome ROI!
I wonder what could be the problem with 53.
I already searched for release changes etc., but didn't find anything special.
And when I try my funnel on my phone through it, everything looks just fine too.

If I run firefox in the same website id's where i'm profiting with Chrome, i get something like this:
Attachment 13073
No clicks at all or very low CTR so i'm sure there is something on the technical side of the things, I believe that Mozilla Firefox has a popup blocker but I don't understand why still count as visits, maybe they actually load the url but don't show it to the user. Thats the only explanation that I can find because the user in those id's are real people, they even convert to sales with the advertiser so is impossible that no ones of them actually clicks on the lander.
Hi Draper,
To just help jog your brain here are a few things I'd recommend:
- Scale it horizontally to other traffic source or other geos
- If you aren't currently you could implement a back button redirect, attach some higher CPA type offer there and maybe you can break even off that Chrome 53 traffic until you figure out what's going on with it.
- It's a long shot but you could take the traffic that isn't converting and redirect to an exchange that will attempt to monetize it for you
- Move your campaign to mobile
- See if you can get a "bump" if traffic is converting well for offer owner - may provide some type of advantage or if it allows you to break-even, once again make your money on the BBR
Just a bunch of random thoughts.
I personally would try to do some other split tests to see if that Mozilla and Chrome 53 traffic continues to perform out-of-character or if in your situation it is particular to your Device/LP/Offer combo. I'd also ask my AM or offer owners and find out if this is something that's happening across the board or if you are the isolate incident.
P.S. Lots of other traffic sources you can probably scale your campaign out to.
Hope this helps!
