New P202 Universal Smart Tracking Pixel (17)

New P202 Universal Smart Tracking Pixel

Can somebody explain to me the benefit of using the new Universal Smart Tracking Pixel in P202 1.7.2?

I have never even understood the point of placing a conversion pixel with your traffic source. Wouldn't you not necessarily want your traffic source to know what keywords are working the best. Especially for traffic sources that do their own internal stuff and directly compete with their customers (yeah, LeadImpact, I'm talkin 'bout chu).

Any explanation/help is appreciated.

Retargetting pixels

PoF Conversion Cross Tab reports -> great way of optimising your PoF campaigns, but only possible if you use PoF Conv Pixels.

Being able to get PoF Conversion Cross Tab reports and still being able to use p202 postback pixels was one of the reasons why I put that feature in. It's super helpful to be able to see that data in PoF.

Of course it can be used for lots more stuff.

I've added Universal Smart Tracking Pixel (https://mytrackingdomain.com/trackin...px.php?amount=) in EWA's offers. When there's conversion, it does reflect in P202, BUT it doesn't reflect in PoF conversion report.

I thought using Universal Smart Tracking Pixel will reflect both P202 and PoF stats. Is there anything wrong?

What is the difference between putting the regular pixel on the aff network, then adding the ad network pixel in the traffic source section and putting the universal smart pixel in the aff network and the ad network pixel in the traffic source section?

I guess what I'm asking is:

Does this happen in both instances?
aff network conversion>regular pixel fires from aff network>202>pof pixel>pof conversion shows up

aff network conversion>univ smart pixel fires>202>pof pixel>pof conversion shows up

I do not understand this. Would you be kind to guide me step by step? I'm new to P202 actually. Thanks!

i think you need the universal pixel if you want to track both pof and p202 conversions but im not 100 percent on this but i would assume thats why it was made since the original pixel will only track p202 conversions..

also when you create your traffic source, in the new p202 they ask for the pixel also, you have to put it there so it can fire it

Oh..i found it. I've added the PoF tracking pixel into P202. I hope it works.

The Universal Smart Pixel is cool, but will only work if the network will load it exactly as it's created i.e as an iframe.

Some networks let you do that in the interface, but sometime you are going to have the network manually place them.

Here's an example of setting up the Universal Smart Pixel for PoF

In step #3 make sure you set it as image or iframe, I used an image pixel for this. What you choose depends on what the ad network supports

In step $8 make sure to grab the whole code not just the url, if there's no space to put the whole iframe code, contact your network to manually place it.

The regular pixel is an image or postpack pixel, bot of these make it impossible to load a 3rd party pixel and have it read or set cookies.

I actually dont understand how to use the advanced pixel? whats the different with a normal pixel and advanced?
The advanced pixel is a way to fire multiple conversions for the same subid. Before if you promoted two offers the only value that got recorded was the last conversion because it overwrote the previous one. WIth the advanced pixel you can create pixels for specific offers allowing a single subid to track multiple sales. Notice the cid variable in the pixel code. Each offer has a cid variable that's unique to it.

Thank you very much for that detailed explanation. Will the universal pixel fire multiple conversions with the same subid as well? Would you say a good rule of thumb is to use the universal smart pixel unless the network wont support it?

Right now the universal smart pixel doesn't have the capabilities of the advanced pixel. However it's something I'd like to work into it.

If you don't need it the universal smart pixel, I recommend using the postback pixel since it a server to server process and usually more reliable that images/iframes because it doen't depend on cookies.

Is Azoogle supports this "Universal Smart Pixel"? Because there is only Image type pixel available. I can't find iFrame pixel.

From what I've heard, it's not available in the interface but your azoogle AM should be able to place it for you.
