Hello,
I'm new to native ads.
I have read some case studies, posts on STM and there was mentioned cloaker for Native like justcloakit or noipfraud.
Could you tell me please why cloaker is needed for native? In order not to get banned like on Adwords or there is another reason?
Thanks!
one reason is to slip fake comments, to give fake 'social proof'
i think.
Hey, ares9773!
Yes. Cloakers in Native is very popular thing. People use it to hide:
- Brand's logos
- Photos of famous people
- Fake comments
- In some networks you need to write on your lander "This is not a real article, it's an advertisement..." - people hide it, because it can give you lower CR
- Prohibited scripts
And other things which source don't allow. But rules are different from source to source, and at the beginning I recommend you to try networks which allow these things. Like MGID - these guys allow about 90% of things.
Hey Mrbraun,
Thx for detailed reply!
Could you tell me please if I get caught by platform what they will do?
Will ban my account without permission to create new or what?
I'm going to start with RevContent. Is it so strict?
Thanks!
Hey ares9773, indeed on Mgid you can run aggressive more easily as mrbraun said. I'm regurarly on Content.ad and Revcontent.
I can tell you that, especially on Revcontent, they are strict when it come to US but for other Geos you can run pretty aggressively without cloaking. Same thing on Content.ad. If you're starting out I recommend to stay away from US, especially if your budget is not high and experiment with less competitive and cheaper geos like LATAM countries for example. You'll have way cheaper clicks and more room to come out with angles and advertorials that sell without worring too much about the source policy.
