Hi,
I want to ask you about your experience with FB optimisation.
I have following issues:
When I start the ad which is optimised for conversions with AUTOMATIC bid, it works like this.
- First two days the CPC is low but the conversions are expensive, so its in MINUS
- Next few days, the CPC is still low, the conversions getting cheaper and the campaign going to the PLUS
- After a while, CPC stars to rise and the campaign is no longer in PROFIT
When I start the ad which is optimised for conversions with MANUAL bid:
- when the bid is low, the AD is not showing
- when the bid is high, AD starts to showing but the campaign is not in the profit.
What type of optimisation are you using?
Thanks in advance
Sounds pretty normal, though what happens to your ads on manual bid "after a while"?
The auto bid will be efficient if you feed it data since it can adjust far better than a manual bid can. Just has more risk with aggresive bidding, fluctuations in the market etc.
Overall it sounds like your CPC rising is the bigger problem - CTR dying out?
I am experiencing exactly the same process with the automatic bid like you describe and when after a few days or a week the CPC rises again, I presume from banner blindedness, I relaunch campaign with different headline, ads etc. Usually this does it.
I'm still wondering though if this is the best way to go about it. Coz I ideally would like to have campaigns go untouched for larger periods of time.
We only use Automatic, and keep refreshing the creatives (images) more often than the text.
Thanks,
the problem with CPC is not a CTR or image issue, we use fairly big audience (couple millions) and spending low budget, so the frequency is still 1.0 and only small part of the audience already seen our ad. The CTR remain same also. The only thing which happens is CPC goes up significantly for no reason.
Now I'm trying the manual bid which I set pretty high at start and decreasing it slowly, so I will get the price for conversions I like. Now I'm on the point where if I decrease bid more, the campaign stop spending all budget, so I'm waiting to get more data and will try decrease it again.
