Hey everyone, ive recently started doing SOI/email submit and i was initially capped at 400/ leads a day, after just 2 days of running the advertiser gave the network feedback that they really like my quality and then i got the green light to scale and i was ready for it. The initial (for the first few days) ROI was 400% and just after a few days of doing huge volume, my ROI is now down to 150% - It's not even been a week since im running this new offer, but then i decided to split test another offer on the same network and the ROI was 300% and then after a few days, same story it starts to go down.
I got lots of traffic and although im spending 4 figures a day its nearly impossible for my campaign to saturate so quickly. At this point, i'm confused.
My affiliate manager told me straight up, the advertiser might be scrubbing you - So i told her to let the advertiser know if they have a problem with my traffic quality ill stop sending traffic - or i can continue working with them with a lower payout. But the advertisers said, my traffic quality is good and they aren't scrubbing.
At this point i'm just confused, i tried to search for the same offers on other networks but i can't find it (im signed up on a few networks only - yesterday i joined several other networks, still waiting for them to review my application)
How would you approach my situation at this point?
150% roi isn't bad at all, of course, but i'm worried that it will continue to go down, at least that's been the trend for the past days.
I don't have much experience on dealing with SOI advertisers, please give me some suggestions. Thank you.
Hey! I had the same problem before. How many sources do you use? May be the problem is in your source? So in my case it was:
1) My source didn't have a lot of traffic, and I bought a lot of non-unic traffic. So I added new sources. And change the LP for old source.
2) My land was in Spy-services, and some people run same campaigns like my campaign.
3) I sometimes have a very high ROI on 1st days, but on the next day it can be worse. Therefore I do analysis after 2-3 days at lest for full picture.
Most likely, if you boost your budget, shitty/less relevant traffic will be added so ROI goes down.
There are several reasons for this and you will see it happen over and over.
Part of it is saturation/burnout of the creatives and of the source, I don't want to write it all again as I already wrote an article about this, read it please : http://stmforum.com/forum/showthread...-down-and-down I wrote it with adult traffic in mind, but the principle works everywhere. The cure is simple, update your creatives - test some that look totally different.
Scrubbing is an option too, advertisers simply have their tricks and there is not much you can do about it, except for moving traffic elsewhere - so in case the ROI is still healthy, ignore it. Part of the scrubbing is legitimate anyways - think about duplicate registration from the same person, you would be surprised how often this happens - especially with SOI offers and when advertising on the same placement for a longer period of time. Part of the visitors are always returning, they might see a different banner or lander now and think it's something different and signup again. Visitors who showed interest in a product once, are very likely to fall for it again ... that's actually the logic behind the whole remarketing idea.
Competition - as mrbraun already pointed out - someone can copy your funnel, bid higher than you on the same placements and there you have it - this will pretty much always impact the CVR.
I wouldn't freak out too much here, not just yet. But definitely look for similar offers to test here. And make sure to test new creatives too in order to combat burnout. Keep in mind that every campaign will die at some point and those with super high ROI, which 300-400% definitely is, will drop of the cliff pretty quickly - but they can continue to run and bring those solid 150% for a longer period of time.
