Fastest tracker out there? (12)

Fastest tracker out there?

Been using Voluum for a while now, pretty happy how things are like. Obviously not the most peeeerrrfect SaaS but definitely gets the job done, and kudos to them for that.

We're trying to explore other trackers out there which potentially have faster loading speeds/redirects, if there is even any.

Doing around 1-2million impressions a day, and only going up, and every millisecond matters to us. I personally prefer managed than self-hosted, which can be a nightmare when volume goes up. I personally don't require any bells and whistles and also hearing a lot of comparison between Voluum vs Thrive vs FF which all seems really great innovations and tools.

Has anyone personally ran some sort of speed test between those trackers before? (Especially in a managed multi-geo scenario)

Or if I'm missing something here, and if anyone has some tips it'll be much appreciated too!

Hey!

I recommend you to try http://www.pixelk.com
I'm using it now, and speed is very fast. For me it's one of the best for redirect/pop traffic.

Hey im using Funnel Flux and never had an issue with handling high volumes. About the speed: At equal distance Funnel Flux is faster than the other trackers. VitaVee ran some tests not long ago, with an FF server in New York. He setup the same campaign on FF and Voluum and ran traffic from Frankfurt. Voluum has instances in Frankfurt, so they couldn't be closer, while FF's server was 6k+ km away. There was a speed difference, but FF was less than 10% slower despite the distance.

@alfiss Based on experience, Thrive has the fastest overall average redirects for worldwide traffic, and it scales infinitely to huge volumes. 1-2M/day is easily handled. If you'd like to contact support@ipyxel.com and provide your current example tracking link, we can do a comparison for you.

One recommendation for anyone looking to test speeds on multiple trackers - use as close to real world data as you can. Gatling is my preferred tool for this. Things like missing user agents can make a big difference to tracker speed - a minimal speed test like ab, for example, will give misleading results.

I'm making the assumption that you are referring to the managed service, as this would vary based on the individual's server setup if self-hosted. Considering the price difference, this should probably be pointed out.

Adsbridge is able to handle large volumes of traffic as well, and without lag.

Tom, about your cloaker function. Does it have all the rules for different networks already set up? For example if to run on DSPs, Mobile networks etc?

It's a DIY cloaker. Please see this article: http://support.ipyxel.com/hc/en-us/articles/221142148
Or email support if you have additional questions.

Hello.

I tried to use PixelK but had to stop using it because of click loss problem.

There were 40~50% click loss for pop under traffic campaigns and 10~30% click loss for redirect(direct navigation) traffic campaigns.
I tried to install PixelK on Linode(4cpu, 8gb ram) and AWS EC2(4cpu, 16gb ram) but result was same.

Question:
1.
What VPS or dedicated host service do you use for PixelK?

2.
How do you optimize server for PixelK?

I would love to personally hear about any qualms you may have with Voluum.

I'm pleased to hear that you understand that every millisecond counts - something I hope more affiliates become aware of when they pick their tracker.

I can guarantee you that no other tracker comes close to us when it comes to redirect speeds. We are one of Amazon AWS' largest clients in central Europe, with server costs that likely exceed revenues of our competitors (in the six figures). We've become so proficient at utilizing their services at ultra high volumes that Amazon sends over representatives to our offices to learn from us.

With 9 data centers and over 200 servers our traffic servers respond on average in 3ms - it's almost impossible to do it any more quickly.

We utilize Latency-Based Routing thanks to which every visit and click hits the server which is "closest" in terms of latency.

Lastly, we're tracking just shy of 1B visitors / day, around 14,000 events per second at peak times doing that is no small feat.

If you have any question let me know!

Best,
Robert
