Hi guys,
would like to find out more on self advertiser traffics quality, testing some of their traffics on android pops and it turns out quite badly.
1) High click loss rate (more than 40% above) overall for almost several geos that i have tested (e.g US, UK, IL, KR, JP, NL, NO, DK and more)
2) Placements that appears on their traffic sources and doesn't reflect on my tracker (
curious to find out more on the underlying problems from other affiliates running with them.
At this moment, have send them the list of 100% click loss placements and some high clicks (50% above) to them, my AM mention 100% no issue on their traffics, which makes me very confuse as am facing dilemma here.
Conclusion, they have refunded me 3% of my traffic spending with them (about 50 usd)
any advice ?
thanks in advance
stopped working with them. I installed a bot detect script on my landing page and there were sites with 100% bot traffic. After blacklisting those sites, the next day appeared new sites full of bots.
To me, and to other affiliate friends I have, they are not legit
Yes, it's an Israeli scam company, I think they used to be called Revenuehits now Selfadvertiser. It seems that they still have enough stupid people who are paying for their fake traffic.
Hey zenith!
Yes, it's not a very good traffic source. I recommend you to try: Propellerads, Clickadu, Hilltopads.
I heard quite a few complaints from fellow affiliates about this source too, but at the end of the day, there is some % of crap to be found in every network. The good part is, there are soo many networks, so if one isn't working for you and you're getting too much bots, simply move on. Mrbraun gave you some good tips : you can also try these for POPS - adcash, popads, zeropark, plugrush (adult) ...
I'm running on SelfAdvertiser (used to be Revenuehits). Here's one of the camps I'm running there - started a couple of weeks ago:

Bid is 0.0024/view.
Currently all the camps I'm running there are targeting carrier traffic only. Generally speaking, I find that when targeting carrier traffic, I get a LOT more stable performance and a lot less junk traffic. This is my experience for pop traffic in general and not just selfadvertiser.
My speculation: It must be way harder to generate bot traffic for carrier compared to wifi. Anyone can fire up a bot using a proxy/VPN and send a ton of artificial traffic to any website. To similate carrier traffic, you'd probably need to get a phone with a data plan from the specific carrier. (That would be my guess only. The more technically-inclined folks may be able to shed more light on other possibilities.)
I've also run wifi traffic on selfadvertiser in the past, and results were hit-and-miss. It really depends on geo and other targeting.
Point is, I wouldn't dismiss this traffic source altogether.
