Using media to promote angles

Hi All

What do you think about angles that focus on touching nerves by using what has been in the media?

For example - if a service provider is hacked or under threat if you used that to promote a mobile anti virus app? And targeting your campaign against the specific country?

Maybe I'm overthinking and complicating things to far out of the box?

Thanks

This is actually a good approach of using TRENDS, in this case negative trends. This can work very well in case of a major security breach that has hit large mainstream media, users should respond to such an angle pretty good.

This is a good idea and a generally smart way of thinking. Taking advantage of things that are already in the media is smart as its like riding a wave. Its like the media is already doing the campaign in large scales and you need to use its angle in an affiliate campaign.

Anti Viruses and security breaches, Sweepstakes when a new iPhone hits the market, Credit score offers when its time to do your taxes, Insurances after an earthquake (doesnt have to be in the same geo...)...

There are many (many) possibilities.

Great approach for sure! Here are some tools that will tell you what the hottest trends are at the moment:

Find a way to work some of these into ad angles for whatever it is you're promoting to take advantage of current trends.

Using outside info is always a great way to help. For example, this adult info might be a little old, but looking at info for what was searched, or broken down by country, etc. can help you think of other angles, to go even further out of the box, or target specific people and create a new angle (that will eventually be ripped off and replicated). http://www.pornhub.com/insights/porn...year-in-review

The main unique thing about AM is finding your angle or niche that works for you. That's why so many people here have had success; they take what others have done, put their own unique spin on it and continue to evolve it until it's entirely their own. Once you're able to come up with your own angles that work, that's where the real fun begins.
