Question About Sweeps Banner Ads

What's up guys.

I've been experimenting with two different offers at the moment - win a iPhone in DE sweep and Android in DE sweep. I have been -80% ROI right now, I ripped a few landers from AdsXposed and am using them. I feel like I picked the wrong Geo but I still want to test banners too.

Thing is, I am only seeing landers that would work perfect for pops (like you been selected, blah blah)

but I feel like this is not the landing page style you would want for a banner ad like on Go2Mobi.

If lets say I want to push the Chance to Win iPhone offer - what would be the best method for landing page style. Like a little article? Still stay with the you've been selected? Prize wheel?

Thank you!

These landers are used for both POP and banner traffic. People use generic high CTR banners to get cheap traffic and throw it at these LPs, you might want to try that.

If you want to use article style LP and different, more advanced angles, it could be a good idea to use targeted banners to keep the flow from banner to lander.

Thank you very much for the reply matuloo!

Three types of landers I am working with - one that has a social media look, a prize wheel, and you've been randomly selected.

I am currently feeling quite a bit overwhelmed by all the GEOs and offers. I got the idea that I should be trying things in Africa and Asia instead of developed countries like Germany. Could you comment on this?

Also, as far as banners go, what sort of offers work best for them these days? Like app installs, pin submits, games, sweeps? Or it doesn't really matter?

Also - you said generic high CTR banners - what would those look like? Just basic text ads that say click here?

Thanks for your time.

Yup, these GEOs have cheaper traffic, the offers do not have to follow so many regulations as in developed countries so they convert easier and even thou they have lower payouts, it can still work out just fine. On top of that, it's easier to learn with offers that can bring multiple conversions for a few $.

I used to do very well with banners and PIN submits, but it got a bit harder recently, probably due to increased competition. But generally speaking, any BROAD appeal offer should work with this traffic to some extent.

Yup generic banners are those that basically trick surfers to click so "click here, play, download, install ..." They usually translate to high CTR but the CVR will be lower so it's about finding the balance.

Awesome, this is exactly the kind of advice I needed to clear up some of the confusion going on in my head.

When you say BROAD appeal, do you believe it's better to take that broad appeal (like an iPhone 7) and niche it down a bit through the banner/angle like making it around soccer or some video game?

"Win an iphone" itself is a broad appeal offer, because frankly, EVERYONE would want an iphone 7 if it was for free, right? How you're gonna promote is a different story and that's actually the angle you need to come up with. Niched angles might work better on niched sources, make it around soccer as you suggested and promote it on soccer fan sites ... that could work yes. But with blind sources that don't allow any kind of interest targeting, you need to stay broad with the angles too. So the approach will depend on the traffic sources and how properly you can target your audience. On blind sources it's still better to stay broad but use other elements to make the surfer feel like it's all about him : call out his device, his location, his OS ... whatever you can find out about him/her - modern trackers will help you with this as they detect all kinds of stuff and it's possible to display this info on the LP. So you can actually tell the user : "Throw away your old Samsung Galaxy S2 with old Adroid v 2.5 ... you are todays possible winner of a brand new iPhone 7" This is a very frequently used method/angle for example.

LP Advice, Advertisers are on the war path over non compliant landers, specifically over the terminology used. The punishment is severe, they are with holding payment regardless of traffic quality. If you want to make sure you get paid, my best advice is mimic the offer page with terminology. If they say it on the offer page you can use it on your lander.
