Images and celebrity names (2)
1) I was wondering where affiliates get images( iphones, samsungs, logos ect.) for their landing pages/banners without getting in trouble with copyright and legal issues. I have read some threads that state that they can be ripped from google images which is not completely legal but it should not be a problem because there wont be a huge global audience to view/ recognize it, is this true?
2) Second question is basically the same but with celebrities, so would it be legal to use celebrity images and also their name in the text for landers/banners? I have read many older case studies that have utilized celebrity names and images without their permission and it seemed fine. If not legal, what are the probabilities of running into some legal problems?
You are right, affiliates usually do not care much about the possible problems and rip stuff left and right 
It's also true that the risk is very low, but it's still there so keep that in mind.
Using images of celebs and making false claims is a bit more risky, advertisers can use this as a reason to not pay you, so always check with your AM whether they are ok with it or not. Many traffic sources also reject creatives with celebs, it has caused quite some problems in the past so they want to stay away from it. But again, people are doing this all the time and the risk involved is very low.
