Some script for a landing page are needed
Hello guys,
In my landing pages I would like to add some elements that may be useful for conversions. So I'd need the html script and syntax that allow me to:
1. Show user's location. Something like "John from New York, NY, USA has won..." (And of course it's user's location)
2. Minutes left. Like "this offer will expire in 05,00 min" and the countdown of the seconds is visible.
3. Add a sound to my lander. Like a "Welcome" as the page is loaded. I know that this technique is often used for pop-ups. Can this be ok also for mobile display traffic?
Can someone help please?
Thank you

Thank you very much Amy. That's great!
The only thing is that I can't find geolocation on that post. Like I meant here

The simplest way is just to have your tracker forward their location to your lander, then echo it on your lander.
You can get all the details on how to do that here:

If you are using Prosper202, geo location (and other variable) output is built in and easy to output with no programming
Here is more info

I believe there's no longer a free option for Maxmind. Whereas using your tracker to identify the geo-location would be a free alternative (if you're already paying for a tracker).

Well yes I'm already using a tracker. Anyway there's no hurry for this types of addition in my lander, so I'll take my time while studying the guide Caurmen posted

.
By the way, in the topic I linked in my previous post there is this:
2 - Auto Resize & Center
This is a very used technique , but also very risky.
Most networks don't like it and it can get your account banned if caught, so use carefully!
You want to use this if your landing page / offer is too big to be shown inside the pop and the call to action is not clearly visible.
What it does it that it resizes the window first and then it redirects to the offer , which will show on a full page window.
Can you explain why networks don't like this tecnique. It seems to me it is only page resizing

Most rules are there to fight those who abuse the system and this is one of such rules. When POPs first appeared, they were 100% served on top of the page - these are called POP UPs. POP unders came later on.
So with a POPUP window, you had to keep the size down in order to still keep the original page visible. Popup was just an addition, it wasn't supposed to cover the source page or take the surfer away completely.
The standard popup was pretty small, it had no scroll bars etc - only when you clicked the ad, you were taken to a full page of the advertiser.
Obviously, "clever" advertisers soon came up with scripts that resized the windows, broke out of the frame and added scroll bars ... so they took the surfer effectively away from the source page. That's when this rule came to life - the popup had a defined size, defined functionality and all attempts to change it were banned - simply because it is easier to ban all these attempts and not having to decide whether a small resize was OK and a bigger one was not. If it wasn't for the hardcore abusers, nobody would care most likely.
When popunders came out, the situation was the same so to speak. Clever artists came up with scripts to make this popunders fully functional browser windows, they loaded on top instead of under the window etc ... there were also some problems with certain browsers, even if you tried to fire a popunder, it would still load on top - especially with on-click popunders. So in order to keep the original page visible in case this happens, the size of the popunder has to be smaller than full window.
Another reason was that in order to look good on all devices with various screen resolutions, the default POP size had to be smaller than the typical screen. As it's in the best interest of the ad network and publishers for the ads NOT to look broken, they defined these dimensions and want advertisers to respect them.
To sum it up, resizing, centering or any significant manipulation with the appearance/functionality of the POP window is Banned simply because it was abused to the death in the past and because the networks want to keep the user experience as high as possible.

affkit.com has all the scripts you could ever need as an affiliate. Well worth the small cost with all the time it saves.
