I came across a very interesting article about a new mobile carrier in India that is causing real waves in the country.
Reliance Jio is a new 4G carrier that was recently launched in India and has shook things up in the country.
The old carriers in this country are experiencing massive drops in their market values and social activity is filled with buzz about the new carrier.
Now, why do I find it interesting? A new mobile carrier offering FAST traffic and probably going to take the country by storm and as a result getting a decent market share is something to look for (when targeting...).
Faster connection also means higher CR (looking at it in a somewhat simplistic way).
Also, such an "event" can help improve the other (existing) carriers in the country by lowering their prices, improving their tech and expanding their reach as well (so more traffic available to us).
All in all, looks like something to test in the near future :-)

Pretty interresting, free voice calls and cheap data ... let's see how the customers react to this. I'd expect quite a big shift of consumers.
