I am a gambling operator in the UK and i wanted to trial out POP campaigns.
My question is broadly, has anyone had great (sustainable) success using POPs. Secondly, what has the messaging been like if so, because you can't target too specifically, what is the creative approach, the classic click bait which sends them to a page which then funnels them to the operator.
Would be keen to understand the best journey and the type of creative i'd need to look into
Gambling on pops works for sure!
It's getting advertised a lot.. so it must back out.
Quality is of course lower then Facebook/Native/SEO traffic.
I'd suggest to sign up for Adplexity Mobile if you want to see some landers.
Common themes:
"Congratulations! You won 80 free spins!"
"Facebook wants you to be a millionare"
A slots game where the user always wins. Price is 80 free spins/a cash-on-deposit bonus.
I also had success in the past where we popped the fake winner stories you see on native.
Haven't seen that around lately (but i don't do pops anymore so correct me if i'm wrong).
Not come across Adplexity before, my tools bills are stacking up, what will this allow me to do? See other POP ads in this sector
In terms of angle it seems to be the user stories are the best at converting vs the signup and get xx standard offers. Obviously the former combines the latter too. I won't even get on to native (yet) but it seems there's plenty of scope and being the operator as opposed to the affiliate our network AM i have a bit more breathing space in finding the righ balance between value and volume.
In the past i used POPs reasonably successfully to acquire emails but never managed to convert those into players/sales. It just added more complexity on the email side and unless you're doign crazy volume and you know how to get the email in a inbox, you will struggle to get far. That's my 2 cents for what it's worth
So i've been doing some research; as someone who started off as an affiliate and kind of fell into traditional marketing i have to say, this landscape has changed! Even though i'm doing the marketing for my brand, affiliates just know how to do get results! I'm on the verge of subscribing to adplexity and
- how can i avoid my ads being picked up by the likes of adplexity
- to what extent do i need to cloak my ads as this is a grey area for me?
