POPADS: Profitable Website ID, reusable in new campaign?

Good day to everybody,

I have a profitable campaign which I have optimized all the good website ID for it. So my question is:

1. If for the same GEO+Vertical, can I just target these green website ID without testing all the other web site ID?
2. If for the same GEO but other vertical, can I use back the same website ID without testing from the start?

There's going to be 'higher' probability of those websiteids doing well, but the short answer is still no.

Site 12345 that does well in Brazil might not be doing well in Germany, and vice versa. There might be ton of bots from Germany , and lesser from elsewhere.

There's TOO many variables to consider.

However if site 12323 has been doing shit on 6 different geos, then when testing for the 7th geo, you might tighten up how quickly you cut off that placement.
And vice versa if site 12345 has been doing great for 6 geos, then when testing for the 7th, you might cut it a little more slack and let it accumulate a little more numbers, especially if it doesn't look too promising at the beginning.

Shorter, TLDR answer: Always Be Testing

Hey!

I would recommend you to test POPADS for more spots (websites), that provide good traffic. I mean, a little number of sites supposes a little number of audience you ads is displayed. And when everyone has seen your ads - then you will not get any more leads. That is why it's rather adequate to test more websites, than to expand via additional geos and offers.

Hope, you'll be doing well with that campaign)

A good whitelist of lots of placements can be a very valuable asset to have.

I would START a campaign using this list, by using these good placements to do offer+lander testing - that will allow you to save test budget.

Then once the camp is green I'd open up to all placements (well maybe except the real losers).

For pop traffic, which for the most part is non-targeted anyways, I wouldn't worry as much about changing verticals as changing targeting. Specifically, some placements can convert like shit for wifi but yield 3-4 figure percentages in ROI for carrier/3g. As for the reason, my guess is that it may be easier to produce bot traffic for wifi but not for carrier.

So yeah - if you're running carrier traffic I'd suggest to NOT apply a white/blacklist you built using wifi traffic.

Hey, Harrison!

How's it going?

Your first question? My answer would be yes. It's very likely that it'll work well. I actually advise you to test this more times. For example, if you have a very good targeting, you should expand it for the same GEO and vertical, whether in terms of websites or other parameters, such as devices, browsers, etc.

Remember: the main point of a RON campaign is feeding your Whitelist with great placements!

This can be done for other similar GEOs. If you have another GEO that has a similar profile to the one we're referring to, (for instance: both are from Asia, have similar payouts and traffic profile), you can also try a sweet targeting there. Even though - in this case - the chances for success are lower, they can also be pretty high and give you a lotta cash!

As for your second question, I'd have to answer "no". Different verticals have totally different profiles in every possible department, especially traffic. This means that this particular website can work very well with a specific vertical but very poorly with another - this is probably to blame on the traffic it has. Even though there's a slight chance that it could actually work, both my gut and experience tell me it's not the way to go.

If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate!

Hope your campaigns turn those massive profits we all love!

Cheers!

Hey!

Have been running campaigns on Popads for quite a long time (desktop though), and always used whitelists of top-performers to start over on new geos/placements, though always kept one campaign where the new sources would add, so to say, a broad campaign, where I can constantly find new sources to be added to whitelist campaigns (with higher bids).

So it's a great idea to start over with whitelist of top-performers, however, not to forget about the probability for the newcoming sources to convert well and not to miss out on them.

Hope that helps
