PPV - automotive niche, target to bank 50$ a day

Ok,
Here goes mine. After weeks of lurking here I have finally gotten my feet wet: Got hosting from Tyler, installed cpvlab, started some camps that all failed rather miserably for one reason or another.

So now I have decided to stick to one thing and make it profitable: Auto insurance.

So far: Kicked up 3 landers and let them run for 2 days. All have hundreds of views, so the stats are reliable. ctrs are as follows:

LP1, ctr 0.55%
LP2, ctr 9.33%
LP3, ctr 0.58%

So, I have a clear winner. The problem is, not a single conversion(!). Way over 100 clicks and zero conversions. Used this offer: http://www.offervault.com/offer/deta...84/save500com/ and Lead Impact.

Some admin here want to have a look at my lander and letting me know why might this be?

Other tips / wisdom from people doing good in this niche?

I will appreciate your input.

have you tried a first page submit?

10% ctr = 20c CPC ~ at a .02/pop bid......so trying a first page email sub/zip sub could do well you can often find zip subs for around $2 pay out and email for around $3-4.....or even first page 3-4 field submit those may pay in the $4+ range....

i would def rotate offers....its not just the lp the offers matter as well......you now have a lp with a good ctr which means your halfway there....pair it will a good offer and it will make money....

+1 on testing both shorts vs long forms and rotating offers. It's a lot harder to find auto shorts these days would love to see them come back (ahem) but when i ran insurance I always noticed very wild differences in the way both shorts and longs converted by offer and by network.

yes, polarbacon has is it correct.

it is not just the LP or traffic souce, but also the offer.

I have had good luck finding offers when ones have gone dead for me now for a few months by just shoving all the offers in a rotator and then targetting a general, relevant and high volume target.

I have even found that useful when picking co-reg offers.

If, your LP has a good CTR that means people are clicking through with an expectation... now it is just fulfilling that expectation.

once u find a 'winner', whether traffic, LP, or offer... even network! all it comes down to is dialing in the other pieces [and not running out of money doing it ]

Allright, added some related offers I could find from my cpa networks and upped the daily spending a bit to get more data. Strangely, the ctr I am seeing today is nowhere near as high as before.. But haven't even done the basic stuff with this campaign, such as adding audio, so prolly going to get that fixed. Let's see what happens.

Wiiiiii, run through 4 more insurance deduction offers, no conversions. (got ~20 clicks per each).

Trying to get approval for yet another ~5 offers from cpaway and peerfly, and a couple of these are zips / 1st pagers. So more testing with offers ahead.

Also, just realized that many of my higher volume targets are actually portals to buy / sell cars.. Maybe running an offer to lower insurance is not the best match here? Anyway, I would have though that many people lurk this kind of pages even if they are not thinking to buy a car right at that moment - I know I do. And in any case, I'm getting clicks so they must be at least curious...

Anyway, I've already learned lessons here: ALWAYS have the offers already approved and standing by when launching.. would have saved some tens of $ by having them all in the rotator in the beginning. And also I would have loved to be able to try different sub-niches with the same traffic: car loans, gas submits, etc...i.e. should have used multipath camp in cpvlab.

Anyway, this is fun.

As the others said , rotate as many offers as you can.

You will be surprised how differently they convert.

Also , an angle I've used in the past to promote auto insurance was to bid on big auto brands like ford.com etc .

Since most people that visit these sites are looking to buy a car , they will need auto insurance after.

Try to hit them up with a pop saying you have the lowest auto insurance in their {city}.

I wouldn't suggest audio for the auto insurance niche since you might lose credibility.

However use geo-targeting and calling out the site the user is visiting.

Let me know how it goes.

you might want to collect these peoples names and emails and cells and then give them an auto insurance pre-pop if you can find them.

then hit em up later on with a auto responder seq. with car insurance again

Eliquid, sounds like a valid attack plan also to test, have to go through the offers and see if they have prepoppable ones. Bbrock32, yessir, will do that and will let people know in this very same thread.

So far today: 4 new landing pages to try, 3 more offers to the rotator (so far, expecting a couple more once my AM wakes up..), and stopped traffic from non-converting ones (used more than 2x the payout to see what happens, guessing this is quite enough...).

SO going to get this to work! Keep them tips coming, I truly appreciate your input. I'll make it, you'll see :P

FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK MEE! (No, actually please do not, not literally.)

So basically back to square 1 with this - the good CTR (that, in retrospect, seemed too good to be true anyway), was caused by a pop-up I forgot in the lander, firing after some 10 minutes.. So basically the users were "forced" to click through after that time. I just suddenly realized this last night, and quickly split-tested without the popup. Ta-tta-da-ttadaa, the 10% CTR was all but gone. Too bad that the 4 new landing pages were all designed using that lander as the basis D Ahem, feel REALLY amateurish, but a lesson learned again for me.

Alrighty, time to sharpen up. Back to drawing board. Lowered the daily spending, since I now know that the clicks to offers were not so "intentional". Time to read some threads about landing pages here and toss out a set of new baits to the wolves! Meanwhile, I'm going to try some direct linking to those zip-offers I'm now approved to run, just for giggles.

I'll still make it.

Yya! First conversions rolling in, one of the offers I'm direct linking is breaking even. Hooray to that.

New landers were not very good - again. For some perverted reason this makes me just try more, I mean what the hell are those people thinking - they NEED that cheaper insurance frome me! Why won't they listen to me!

Ok, going to pump some more volume to that one offer and see if it constantly converts better on some targets - current data too unrealiable. And going to take some totally nontraditional approaches with my next batch of landers.

I just wonder when LI is going to stop my campaign, as I'm using rotators and direct linking and stuff.. i.e. the original lander they saw is gone...Or do they even go after low-volume camps? Make a guess. Winner gets..umm.. thanks?

This. Is. Frustrating. No remarkable improvements. Conversions on some low volume targets, no good ctrs.

Going to have to take a 2day break due to other issues. However, will leave the camp running w/ a bit smaller budget and direct linking to a gazillion related automotive offers. Will be thinking of new landers, and will build that e-mail capture option as well now - already set up my iContact for this.

I do realize that this niche is ultra-competitive in a sense, and these people must be so used to these offers. But even so, I would have expected a bit more interest to be honest . Anyway, guess they'll just need a totally fresh angle. So just need to be creative!

My speed of cranking out new landers is improving, and have learned new things about cpvlab here, so I like to think I'm getting value for my dollars spent. Also I'm following the 40 day tut, so I'll be trying other niches soon as well with smaller budgets..

Keeping this "journal" here helps big time too, would recommend to any PPV noobie. Kind of shamed to give up now since I've shared this with you.
