Hi Stackers.
using any driving service like Uber / Lyft / Gett ??? interesting things happen behind the scenes and also above
The beginning of the end for Lyft?
Ride-sharing service Lyft has been looking for a buyer in recent weeks, reportedly seeking as much as $9B.
This comes on the heels of General Motors, a Lyft investor, expressing interest in acquiring them, which means the pink moustache could just be exploring options from other potential buyers.
Or maybe they see the writing on the wall...
Ever since Lyft was born, its older, richer brother Uber has dominated the ride-sharing market.
But since Lyft only operates in the US, while Uber tries to take over the world, there was always hope that maybe, just maybe they could win domestically in the long run.
However, now that Uber’s unloaded its China operations and raised 4x more cash, the world’s most valuable startup is free to focus more attention on the homeland… leaving Lyft in a less than ideal position: sell now or get bought for peanuts later.
Plus…
Many believe CEO Travis Kalanick is preparing to take the company public next year.
If that is indeed true, then it’s in Uber’s best interest to drive Lyft out of the business or at least significantly cripple their bottom line. And it’s doubtful Lyft (David) is ready or able to go to battle with Uber (Goliath).
Adding insult to injury
Uber executives have said that if they were to buy Lyft themselves, they wouldn’t pay more than $2B -- an absolute slap in the face considering Lyft was recently valued at $5.5B.
And since antitrust concerns would all but guarantee such a deal never took place anyway, this $2B “bid” was probably just Uber screwing with Lyft… making themselves seem far superior and casting doubts in the minds of any potential Lyft investors or buyers.
Lyft’s response to this slap in the face?
According to a Lyft spokesperson, this is a “classic example of Uber using unsavory tactics in an attempt to impact our business. Lyft is not for sale, we are on a fully funded path to profitability.”
Not defending Uber being a bully here, but that’s just your classic PR response. Lyft sells within the next year. You heard it here first. Mark it down.
Pray 4 Lyft

this is another example for Giants in this industry that are not allowing anyone to threaten their position.
another thing to take notice is that although Lyft isnt much of a threat to Uber in sense of Size and earnings this Company (Lyft) is estimated at $5.5B
Talk about perspective!
i wouldn't mind being bullied by the big boy in the hood if i were worth at estimation of $5.5B
so my point here is although there are big affiliates here that upload success stories of hundred of thousands $$$ profit campaigns, Don't look at these stories as something that is too big compare to your story and lose your motivation .
keep on going and do your things, your story will be seen as something unbelievable to some one else that is watching your success story
I've never used Lyft seeing as I live in Canada, but I have heard from others who have ridden it that the service & customer service is far superior to Uber...however we all know it's not about how good you are, but how superior your marketing dept is
It's all about adapt or die these days, and 'whitehat '- to borrow AM lingo - companies of other bigger, badder companies usually don't stand a chance anymore in today's cutthroat INSULAR markets
