GeoTargetted Traffic from FunnelFlux - use a VPS and CDN Mix? Or all CDN?

We're putting together a dedicated setup for a traffic source that is organic search for a specific niche up to perhaps 100K clicks per day. Due to the nature of the niche we need separate offers and landers for major target countries, in particular the UK and the USA. FunnelFlux on the 4Gb Vultr VPS that @vitavee recommends is being used to geoselect the right landers for the incoming traffic.

While a CDN will also geoselect the nearest server in the CDN network, in some earlier posts it seems that a very good VPS in the same location as the traffic can outperform a CDN anyway.

As I already have FunnelFlux geoselecting the landers - would it make sense to have a very good VPS in the UK, the USA and perhaps a few more targets to host these landers, and then send the rest of the traffic to a CDN? Or just send it all to a CDN and focus on other parameters to optimise the speed?

My own tests showed that a properly running VPS can produce pretty much the same results as a CDN. To make it even better, I used a VPS in US and targeted Asian markets with that test My test used banner traffic which is believed to be less speed sensitive as POPs for example, so since you are about to use Search traffic, the VPS should do well enough.

I would recommend to set the LPs up and use a tool like pingdom to check the loading speeds. In case you can get them to about 500ms from various locations, I wouldn't worry about it too much and focus on other factors.
