We're in the middle of the summer so I'm pretty sure many of the STM members are spending their vacation time all around the world. So where have you been? How was it? Post some pics and let us envy you 
To get the thread moving, let me be the first one to post something. I just returned from Croatia couple days ago, where I spent almost 2 weeks with my family. Croatia has been my favorite destination to go, ever since I had kids, because I can travel there by car and in case something goes south, I can be back home in a "few" hours.
Usually we stay in some apartment close to the beach, but this year we took a bit different approach, I booked a nice house (they called it a villa couple km away from the beach. It was a newly built replica of a dalmatian stone house and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The whole building and interior were done in a retro style, let's check the pics below :

The fact that we stayed a couple km away from the sea actually turned out to be a great idea, we picked a different beach every day and had the chance to explore the whole Istria region, I have to admit I liked this part of Croatia the most, it felt like Italy in a way. The most pretty town we have been to was Rovinj, this really looks like Venice in a way, except for the water canals
Rovinj is full of cool places where you can have dinner
And it looks very good from a boat
There are a few small islands that you can get to in a few minutes, use a boat-bus that leaves from Rovinj marine every hour We liked the islands of Sv.Andrija and Sv.Katarina the most.
Those of you who are close to Croatia, definitely consider Istria and the Rovinj region, it's well worth a visit. And I can only recommend to rent a house like this, the privacy is absolutely perfect, next time I go to Croatia or a similar destination, I will book something similar

Always dreamed to visit Croatia! But haven't been yet! May be next summer.
This year I tried to combine vacation with work, so I have visited Israel, Cyprus and NYC in 3 month.
Some pics from NYC - it impressed me much!

Following traveling is planed to Prague in Sept and Miami at the end of Sept.
