ExoClick Question - Please help!

Hi guys,

I have been running traffic through Exoclicks and in the last few days, I am not receiving ANY traffic. Maybe like 5k impressions a day. Before, with the same settings I have now, I was getting 10 times that.My bid is #1 and I have literally changed nothing in the camp... the traffic just suddenly stopped coming.

Do any of you know what could be the reason for this?

I have contacted their support, they say nothing wrong is detected on their end.

Its been 2 days now and im still in trying to figure out why this is happening.

Can anybody please tell me what the reason could be?

Is anybody else facing problems with them?

Hello,

exoclick also sells spots on "flat" deals, in that case certain % (often high) of the rotation is sold to a particular buyer. When that happens, the traffic from a particular spot simply stops flowing like in your case. Was this a RON campaign or you targeted a limited amount of placements/sites?

It's also possible you have been outbid, their top bid system is not reliable, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. A frequent mistake that people do when checking for the top bid is not setting all the parameters correctly. Try to change the browser type setting, don't forget carriers if it applies to your case etc... Did you try raising the bids?

The last option that comes to my mind, they could have lost that particular spot/site. This happens all the time, sites move from one network to another, trying to find the one with biggest profits for them.

Hi Matuloo,

Yes the campaign was RON and I was getting conversions from one of the biggest porn sites.. Id say 90% of my conversions were from 2 sites. I raised the bid to #1.. well thats what their system told me after I raised it. I want to get the traffic back.. What do you recommend I do?

I was using their smartcpm and beating the top bidder. If they lost that site, should i move to a different TS?

Somebody is bidding 27$ CPM on my options? Is this normal?

How can I compete?

Ok, so it is about a small number of sites as I suspected, tho you were targeting them via RON.

If you see such high top CPM for those sites, you most likely entered a bidding war. The other side raised the bid to an insane level and they are using the smart CPM for sure too. Now they hope you will back out and then they will lower the bid again. It's pointless to raise bid to such levels, but you can try to increase it slowly, very often they raise bids just for a short period of time and you will start seeing traffic soon again. So try to play with the bid, but don't try to beat such high CPMs.

To make sure the sites are still available on exo, check them out and see if exo serves ads in those spots you are interested in. If they changed networks, you will have to follow them.

Thanks for the quick response. Will keep you in the loop going forward. This is my very first legit bidding war. I guess I am up against some big guys.

Cheers!

Could be some desperate entity too, trying to wipe you out with guerrilla tactics You never know who you fight against, but it's usually a good idea to take a break and strike again few days later.
