Influencer Marketing

Hey Stackers!

I was wondering if anyone has had any success with influencer marketing?

If so what influencer networks would you guys recommend or do you recommend going direct to the influencers?

Cheers!

What do you mean by influencer marketing? What type of influencers are you trying to reach? People with lots of twitter fans in india? People with lots of subscribers to their email list for weight loss product? Influencers with lots of active co-vestors linked to their angellist profile?

Hey,

I'm specifically scouting social media influencers with decent engagement on their posts, not so concerned with just the number of followers they have.

Ideally the infleuncer should appeal to females, 25 - 35 years old in tier 1 markets. Possibly fashion or beauty/cosmetic influencers.

If I were in your position, I would start with a few people you can label as influencers (Kimberly Snyder has 150k FB followers for instance, and lots of engagement on her posts with your audience , https://www.facebook.com/KimberlySnyderCN ), and then look at what other people she features and/or is connected with by perusing her channel.

Generally, these influencers all hang out with each other, and are together on the same ticket for big events, callathons, speakers at similar conferences, and the like.

Once you start finding a few of them, you'll find them all.

Some options to contact them, in my mind, would be:
- reach out to them personally
- pay an event organizer or someone connected to them all already to introduce you to all of them, or whatnot

What I would not do is:
- pay some PR agency/person that is NOT connected to them, or does NOT have a track record of working with these people personally
- pay someone who does NOT already have solid relationships with these people.

Im definitely not an expert here, but i hope that can help with direction somehow

One of the best books on the dynamics of influence marketing is The Tipping Point. I definitely recommend reading it: https://www.amazon.com/Tipping-Point.../dp/0316346624
